The performer - he's a bit "stiff" to embody the feeling that the author tried to embue in the book's wording. In general, I'm not certain that the *way* that the book is written lends itself to be read like it is. Because of that, the tendency is to have the message lost in the medium and the book becomes hard to follow.
I would recommend it, but in written form.
His delivery is flat and hard to follow. He reads accurately enough, but it just doesn't work with this material, I suppose
It would be a filmed lecture, so no.
Some of Dr. McGonigal's humor simply falls flat when spoken by Mr. Dixon. At least get a woman to recite the book.
This was a good listen. It offered strong insights into the power of self control. My biggest criticism is that it felt repetitive at times. On several occasions I felt as though the author covered a topic well enough and then didn't move on.
Well presented study of will power and self control. I learned how to understand cravings, recognize them and know what to do when they appear. I learned which strategies work and which ones don't. This book can help me in so many parts of my life and those around me. I'm already putting strategies to use and it's working.
Unlike many books on this subject, this one has actionable information and insights. When you finish this book you have understanding of how willpower works and clear techniques to improve yours.
