I would never purchase another book read by Karen Gravano.
The most interesting part was the peek into the Mafia life from the pov of the children. This book also jumps a lot from thought to thought. Sometimes a little confusing.
NEVER!! She reads like a second grader, I really couldn't believe how bad of a reader she is!
I believe that it would've been better if it were read by someone else, the story is there but, she makes it hard to get into it.
I can't remember the book, it's in my library but it's the story of a mafia's wife. loved that book too.
Her honesty throughout the book, expressing the pain she felt when her dad went to prison the second time and still there. I feel for her brother and most of all, for her innocent mother.
Yes, that part when her father went to prison the second time and she feels guilty about it. The whole book is amazing and moving.
Overall, i felt sad seeing how she had to endure, experience and live that life. I know it made her stronger and she's out of it, but going through it was totally hard! She is in my prayers and would love to get to know her someday. She is an amazing daughter, mother, sister and human being.
It was interesting learn what it was like growing up in "the lifestyle"
Although I enjoyed the book, it was difficult at times to listen to Karen Gravano's monotone reading. I would consider reading another book by her
Enjoying the story, but it should have been read by a professional. The reading reminded of a schoolchild, choppy and poorly narrated.
Seriously anyone but her
Its like Karen is just telling it the way it is.. Pulling no punches... THE RAMPERS the boys..I always wished they would let me in... Due to a little coke think it was no go......Karen Good Luck..
Very interesting and also gives you a great perspective of what its like from being raised in that lifestyle. You have to admire her for being successful after all that happened to her.
Haven't read anything else like it.
A little robotic
Mob Daughter survivors
Great book and heartfelt just needs work on her narration.
I love that Karen Gravano herself was the narrater.
I enjoyed that she was able to incorporate some of the people from mob wives. Her life story is very interesting. Can't believe she went through all that with her dad.
She was somewhat monotone. She needed to have some more animation in her tone.
EXCELLENT!! DIDN'T WANT TO PUT IT DOWN!!!
When her dad decided to flip. They were all so brave.
She brings feeling to it'
Some parts were funny & some were sad.
From watching the show and reading the book Karen has heart under her anger. I think you should make up with Drita. Ramona too.Life is too short to be fighting so much.
Yes, you get to hear her story told in her words.
Hearing her father tell her family he was rolling over and was worried about them. Sammy is a wonderful loving father, you can tell that just by how Karen wrote her book.
I love Karen! everything she does is wonderful to me.
YES! I played it while driving in my hour and a half commute and I didnt want to get out of the car! LOL so I put on ear plugs and came in the house grabbed a cup of coffee and listened away!
This is a wonderful story of a daughter and her family, their trials and tribulations. It shows a warm caring family who in the end only have each other! Thats what true family is.
Not sure i haven't read the book. I would have thought it would have been the same.
The love the family had for each other, it helped them through there lives.
