I am easily amused!
Jane Yellowrock is a wonderful character. She's a shapeshifting Cherokee woman in the modern world. This book is action packed, fast paced, filled with beautiful imagery and pearls of wisdom. The story is exciting and one can't help but love Jane. Khristine Hvam's narration is fantastic. I have listened to every book in the series because the story is so much richer on audio.
If you love The Hollows series by Kim Harrison you will adore this series as well!
Another great Jane Yellowrock story. I have never been disappointed by Faith Hunter and this edition is just the same. Jane continues to get herself into great bouts of trouble, the story however is getting much more complicated as the relationship between Jane and the vampires develops. Now the witches are even more involved with demons and angels as well. Jane's elusive relationship with Ricky remains so but it seems more likely than ever that they will end up together, or will they? Bruiser is letting his intentions be known too, so who will Jane choose? In this story, Jane and Beasts relationship becomes strained to almost the breaking point.
Read it.....you will not be disappointed.
Normally I like the Jane Yellowrock series, but the moaning about how this was her fault and that was her fault really irked me. A meteor could have struck someone and she would have blamed herself for not seeing it fall from the sky. That's how ridiculous she was with her guilt.
Loved the story line, the danger and mystery that is Jane Yellowrock continues.
Great narration, her voice so matches the artist rendition of Jane so I see her clearly in my mind as I'm listening. Love the way she voices the other characters as well.
As the story progresses and with each job she takes, Jane more of her past and possibly her future is revealed. There are numerous hints about her and how she might be more than just a Skin Walker. Conflicting with her birthright is her Christian upbringing effecting how she does her job. But always in her mind is the love she has for Molly and her children, especially Angelina who is showing far more gifts from her own birthright that can be dangerous not only for her but for everyone around her that might want to use her and her Witch family. the storyline just keeps getting better and better...loved it.
While Leo may rule the vampires of the Southeastern US, it is Cherokee Shape Shifter Jane Yellowrock who reigns over the "supernats"-- weapons at the ready.
The nefarious don't stand a chance. With help from allies and even one or two enemies, her fast paced adventures keeps us listening for more.
Creative, engaging and addictive!
Dead Witch Walking, with it's strong female "kick butt" character with a heart.
Have stakes will travel.
This series is never boring or predictable. Keep em" coming!
A lot better than book three. Not as many unresolved threads. Story is a bit unfocused, or rather focused on several different things. Redeemed by Hunter managing to tie things up at the end.
Tension is high, pace is a bit uneven, but action junkies will get what they want. Beast is great, almost upstaging Jane at times.
Hvam's narration is great.
"Blood Cross" is still my favorite in this series.
Final niggle: I wish that Hunter's editor had done her job! A lot of expletives in a high tension job like Jane's is a given. But PLEASE have her say something other than "crap".
This book is action packed...but Jane is still making rookie mistakes..partly the vamp politics are to blame and partly she is. Many relationship changes are in Jane's future and the big question of whether or not she's done with the vamps.
