Very funny book, though the romance is pretty contrived and the plot is nil. If you're looking to zone out, feel summery, and have a few good laughs, then this book is perfect :) Pretty much if you read the summary and think it sounds like exactly the sort of thing you're in the mood for, you will not be disappointed.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost 30 years. I love reading - romance, adventure... Captain Blood is really great!
Near the top of my favorite books. downloaded on a whim but will definitely get more of Molly Harper
It's not a book I would normally get, but took a chance on something new. It paid off in an amusing way.
She really captured Miranda and she was a great performer
I loved Collin driving the SUV off the cliff....
I work in a library, so you would think I read a lot, but I feel really guilty if I sit just to read. That is why audio books are great!
I really had fun with this book. It had me laughing from beginning to end. The predicaments these two characters get into are one bad experience after another, but they are all something everyone can relate to.
I had to purchase the Jane Jameson series by Molly Harper. Same world, and absolutely hillarious.
Amusing, Light, Farfetched
She spoke certain phrases exactly the way they must have been written to sound.
I would recommend this to all my romantic comedy, vampire loving fellow readers. It's got the love, the humor, the fangs... too bad it was lacking a bit of mystery but I guess it couldn't have been added in such a short book
All the other books from the author have the same exact imprint
Definitely the main character
At some points it made me laugh, especially when it talked about the first car incident the author had.
Never change the narrator in this series, she just made the book so much more enjoyable, entertaining and especially funny! I just wish this had been elaborate on a bit more, the love story, a bit more mystery... some blood ... this is after all a vampire novel, isn't it? Besides the fact that the vamp was sleeping in a compartment during the day he was pretty much stripped of his most appealing vampirish capabilities... that's too bad.
This was a funny story that takes place in the Jane Jameson world. You don't need to have read the Jane books but some of the characters make a quick appearance.
It made me laugh a lot, so I recommend you don't listen somewhere you can't burst out laughing.
My only complaint was it was a bit on the short side. : (
I don't read a lot of romance, supernatural or otherwise, but I loved Molly Harper's "Nice Girls" series. "Driving Mr. Dead" definitely has the same signature Molly Harper snarky humor and attitude, so I expected to like it. That being said, it took a while to get going. Seems like the male protagonist took so long to become likeable, I almost gave up on him.
Still worth a read or a listen, if only for the humor.
Not much, performance was fine.
Sure, it was cute, I just don't enjoy the sexy stuff in books.
I bought this book based on the extremely high average review (4.4) and because I really enjoyed "How to Flirt With a Naked Werewolf". Sadly, it doesn't measure up.
The female character's tendency toward hysteria was annoying. The story also felt underdeveloped, although this may have been because I have not read other "Half Moon Hollow" books by this author so I don't know the back story. In any case, it seemed thin and lacking in believable characters (or as much as characters can be believable in a vampire story). The heroine's accident prone personality was cute and funny but her relationship with all of the other players, particularly her mother and fiance, was trite and unconvincing.
In my opinion, this book is filler - an attempt by the author to milk her storyline for all it is worth.
