it makes you think have we learned anything from the past,
how people are swayed by a talker, instead of deeds.
he has a great voice,and brings story,alive
must we keep doing the same thing or can we change.
If people are lied to enough, they will believe as evidenced by the manner in which the Third Reich was able to conduct systematic and industrial genocide.
Isn't that why we should read? To have our thoughts provoked? I like to think we learn from history, but realize that if that were true we would not in fact, be doomed to repeat it so often! That is what I liked most about this title....it caused me to stop and think! What I liked least...too short!
Gets a really good concept across without taking forever to read. The audible version has an interview with the author at the end that's really interesting too.
Probably 8 of 10.
The title sparked my interest.
No, this is my first.
The simple but straight truth to answer the question. Very eye-opening.
I do recommend this read to every american.
Nothing earth shattering here; when a people accept everything their leaders tell them, bad things happen. Only 46 minutes, but the argument is well made.
I really enjoy this short lesson. Well done! The author goes to great lengths not to play politics.
Yes, everyone should read.
Liberal Facism, In the garden of beasts, and the hiding place. They all tell the truth about history.
How small lies can seem harmless, but when your government is lieing to you it is never harmless.
Normally I prefer reading but I will listen to audio books when I have to make long drives. In this case, it wasn't a long drive (I think the entire audio version was around one hour) but I am glad I listened to this one in audio format. It is read by the author and given the power of his words, I can't think of a better way to understand the message of the book than to hear it read by the person who wrote it.
This book stands alone. Never have I read so few words that said so much.
I don't know if it was because the author was reading his own words but I felt as though I absorbed every word; nothing was lost on me and I didn't lose focus once.
I don't know if I would call it interesting but the many different colored patches worn by those for whom the Nazis designated undesirable was a revelation. I only knew about the yellow stars and pink triangles...that there were so, so many more is a fact we should all consider.
Read this book; have your friends read this book; tell your family to read this book....all it takes is for good people to do nothing for evil to prevail.
It is short and worth listening to a second or third time.
This book has answered THE question that has bothered me for a long time.
I was amazed by how easy it is to mislead people who desperately want to believe authority figures …..and are willing to buy into a lie.
Great book that everyone should read and be familiar with ....
