Nothing good about the story. Like "Eore" slow and dull
It will take awhile
Performance was fine, story was slow
Without giving anything away the lawyer’s revenge actions at the end of the book is simply unbelievable. Not enough twists and surprised.
More of a plot, mystery,intrigue
Would Listen again
All of them
The Store did not even live up to the Cover. There was no hero, no villain, no intrigue or plot twist. I think it was written and read well but the it was just a lame story.
The factual legal info woven into the story.
I have not listen to other books by this author
Mobile and Web developer, Audible member since 2004. Trend towards mystery-thrillers just for fun, but read most everything of substance (i.e. no romances here).
This book reads like a self-consumed diary of a teenager. So much time is spent going over and over and OVER the flirting and building relationship between Alex and his associate that the story is lost. Frankly, I didn't care about Alex (or any other character, for that matter) enough to care about his possible extra-marital affair. I got to that point in this book where I ask myself "Do I care about this character? Do I want to know what happens to him?". With this book, the definitive answer was no. Moved on, didn't finish, and that's saying a lot. Disappointed I wasted a credit on this.
The story was very detailed in legal wranglings throughout two separate cases. None of the characters were very likeable or sympathetic. More a story of guy having a mid life crisis.
This story started well and become tedious; every minutiae of the legal proceedings! This book could have done with some good sub editing. Also, I love David LeDoux, but he was not the right person to narrate this story, he is far too boyish which made the main character seem immature and unable to accept responsibility which I don't believe was the writer's intention.
Although I am a big fan of this genre, this book is uninspiring.
I can't believe anyone thought this was a good read/listen. The story was unoriginal, boring, lacking in believability, humorless and had no flow. Obvious plot 'twists'. It was really bad.
Boring story, humorless.
Performance was OK.
Luckily it wasn't too long.
Anyone who gave this a good review -like Alan Dersowitz - has lost all credibility as a reviewer in my eyes.
I enjoyed the book, but it wasn't as fabulous as some of the reviews I read led me to believe it would be. I'd definitely recommend it to a friend, but I'd make sure that they knew they weren't about to read the next best seller by Grisham.
I do plan to try other books by Adam Mitzner. when they are available. I thought this one was pretty good, it just wasn't as amazing as I expected.
