"Locked On review."
I liked ALL of the late TCs books both individually and co-authored styles. Locked On quite faithfully follows the Clancy style. As with most of his books, it is a mixture of amazingly prescient details combined with an adult 'Boys Own' imagination-stretching storyline. But, as far as I'm concerned, good, entertaining stuff. The only major complaint that I have is with the audio book. Lou Diamond Phillips does NOT do Welsh accents! His voice sounded like a half-hard Irish car salesman when uttering the words of Junior's trainer. However, if you're not British you probably won't notice and the rollicking
"Brilliant -. Great story with some great detail.
thoroughly enjoyable and realistic storyline. well read throughout given it a good balance and credit to the story.
My first Jack Ryan book although I've seen the films. really enjoyed it, hard to actually stop listening.
Lou Diamond Phillips did a good job apart from his Welsh accent lol. Calling Jack Ryan "Laddie" and speaking with an equally bad Scottish accent made me laugh out loud but didn't spoil my enjoyment of the book.
"Brilliant as usual"
Never disappointed.. Ames my two hours a day in the car whilst commuting totally bearable..
Very addictive unable to stop listening
Highly recommended . Getting threat vector now :-). Hope that's as good as this one Thanks
"Locked on Success"
I loved the story as I always do with MR Clancy
Lou Diamond Philips did a Stirling job but (and I've seen other comments on this subject) he needs to do his homework on the British accents a Welsh accent is nothing like a Scots One Lou! But you told the tale well and I thoroughly enjoyed the well produced performance
"Can't wait for the Next installment"
My first venture into Jack Senior and Jr. Wasn't hard to visualise the scenarios and loved the ending. Keep writing awesome stories Tom Clancy. An action packed book from beginning to end.
I would really like to read a story based on the Splinter Cel character Sam Fisher probably the equivelent to Sam Drescal in this book. My first exposure to Tom Clancy was in the form of the Spinter Cel Video game.
This is my 2nd Clancy audio book. I still don't know how he comes up with these ideas, must still have friends in the industry?
This book should be made into a film. Micheal Bay/Jerry Bruckheimer should make this film.
"Short & Sweet a real blast!"
Ex-Rainbow Six and his team are back again and provide another roller-coaster ride that rarely takes a breath. Loved it to bits, cant wait for the next installment
As previous reviewers, someone at Audible needs to stop Lou Phillips doing any Welsh accents, it was awful! However, the plot was good, I really enjoyed it and couldn't put it down, so to speak. It is long and you don't lose the plot as you go, but you do have to concentrate on what is happening, as with most Tom Clancy books, as the plots move very quickly. Can't wait for the next one.
This is a fantastic story made even more entertaining by the readers obvious ignorance of accents from the United Kingdom. The highlight of which is the attempt of a 'Welsh' accent. I can only assume the reader has genuinely never heard a Welsh person speak. Absolutely hilarious !
