This isn't so much a review as a warning. The author(s) take an exquisite delight in the gory details - especially of the deaths of several of the characters. If you're squeamish, you might want to pick another book.
Otherwise, the book was entertaining and a bit thought-provoking. You'll never look at your lawn in the same way ever again!
I have read Crichton's best and have enjoyed them all. This was good and I hear Amblin Entertainment bought the rights to this. If done correctly, it would be fun to watch on the big screen. Preston made it hard to tell where Michael's share ended and his began. He deserves credit for his efforts. This one is face paced and Vin Drake's character is a fantastically diabolical psychopath. Only have a few Crichton's left to enjoy. Solid B. Performance was excellent.
The story started off interesting and you found yourself rooting for likable characters. However, by the end, I found myself daydreaming as well as fast forwarding through tangents and long repeated challenges the less likable characters went through. Not one I'll continue to think about or recommend to anyone. Just medium level entertainment for the commute.
Extremely interesting book, I learned WAY more about bugs than I wanted to, but it didn't gross me out (and I DON'T like bugs!!)
The adult version of "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" but WAY better!! Great concept, interesting story, and lots of action as well.
Yes, very mind blowing in some places. Couldn't wait to see how they would get out of all the trouble they had gotten into.
Really good story, would highly recommend it.
Worst Creighton ever. HORRIBLE character development. Even worse dialog. Makes 50 Shades read like Shakespeare. Vaguely interesting story, though predictable, clichéd, and juvenile. Poor reading ... narrator sounds and bored and ready for the end as the listener. Dialog too ghastly to be imagined with the human mind.
