I have a quilting business. Since I love to read, I cannot read a book and quilt at the same time. Now I can listen to books and quilt too.
I loved the audio version and did not read the print version.
The emergence of the characters...either for the good the bad or the ugly.
When Swan forgives 'Friend'.
I did not laugh or cry...but I was very moved by the characters.
I was a bit leary....but after I got into listening I became very involved with the characters and loved the whole book. If you enjoyed the concept of what could/would happen if we had a nuclear holocaust as in Stephen Kings The Stand, you will totally enjoy this book.
I really like McGammon's Matthew Corbett books, and I love Stephen King's The Stand, so I thought that this book was a sure thing. There were moments when I thought I might get into it, but it never happened. Sadly, I couldn't even finish this one. Talented narrator, though.
The story was so vivid that I almost felt like it was a movie. The story itself is pretty good, but where it really shines is in the character development.
I always enjoy female narrators more than male, I'm not sure if it's because I find females doing male voices much more convincing than the alternative, or if it's just that I'm female and so identify with it better... Either way the narration was very skilled: there were A LOT of characters to distinguish between and he did a very good job of it.
I enjoy listening to great detective mysterie & also great thrillers. I enjoy books also by Vince Flynn, David Baldaci including assasins.
The audio is better than the print. Swan Song is very emotional. Listening to the audiobook, you are drawn into those emotions. You seem to feel what they are feeling.
For me, he delivered the emotions of Swan Song to the listeners. As the author intended I believe.
Yes once I started I wanted to keep on going. This is another one I will listen to again.
Our worst nightmare is only a push of the button away from becoming a reality. Listening to Swan Song rather than just reading it really gives the book what it deserves, the feeling of reality. This book has so many different yet important characters and the narrators are great. I don't think that the book will read as well as if you hear it. It is like you are listening to an exciting movie!
The book is so good I don't want to give away anything!
The Swan Redemption
I had read it years ago and did not remember how much detail this story had
have not reached it yet
every single one even those I loved to hate he really brought them all to life
I mostly listen While driving or taking the subway and yes I would like to listen to it more at one time but I am enjoying it very much
By far the best
Loved the characters, and it was pretty gruesome too
Loved him bringing the characters to life
Got to listen to this
Stay at home mom who loves books but don't have any time to sit down with one, so I turned to audiobooks =)
This is one of the most well written books I have ever read! It’s a horrifying story about the end of the world as we know it. Gruesome at times and it`s one of those story’s that will hunt my dreams for very long time!
It`s long but I couldn’t stop listening and didn’t want it to end!
Professional woman, reading constantly
No longer futuristic..........I read this book years ago and it seemed so futuristic. Upon re-reading the book this past week, I was amazed at how 'up to date' the 'pre-nuclear war' events were in the book, including events in the Middle East and terrorists. Everyone (especially world leaders) should read this, if only to scare the be-jesus out of them.
The apocalyptic beginning of the book and descriptions of the physical characteristics afterwards.
wonderful voice, great accents and character representation
After a nuke is dropped........wanna see what your face looks like now?
I loved this book years ago. It scared the hell out of me. Scared me worse re-reading it.
