The good: I felt less like I was listening to finish the book and was more, "hey, what is going to happen next." Which is great. I would definitely pick book 3 up if it was on sale, but I'm not dying to find out what happens next. Though the ending for book 2 got my attention and left me wondering where book 3 will go.
The bad: Still too much touchy feely for my tastes in a zombie apocalypse book. I'm just now getting vested in the characters which should have happened in book 1.
This book is definitely better than book 1. Hopefully I will find book 3 on sale and will find that the series continues to evolve and improve.
again a believable story with believable characters great storytelling character development without going overboard already started reading books 3
Absolutely, I already have. Its a refreshing take on the zombie genre, if the dead can walk why wouldn't ghosts be real as well?
The honest look into the root of humanity, and what a cataclysmic event would do to people.
This was the second, the first being the First Days. I would listen to her again for sure.
There are too many to count and would definitely be spoilers.
This was an intense and gratifying listen
This was a total waste, too many weepy crying women one minute then tough rambo women the next minute.
No, just against women narrators in this genre.
This narrator should stick to love stories that have no male parts....she can't do men.
Really disappointed. The opening line was great and I thought it was going to be a good story, but that's as far as the "greatness" went. From there on it felt more and more like a teen type story with bad language.
Love the horror genre but read all kinds of stuff! I'm 40 something, a wife, mom and Project Manager for a large Construction Company.
Good second book
Hard to say. I havent read any other books (other than the first of this series) that have female heroines that kick *ss.
I liked them all but related more to the prosecutor, she was calm, level headed, reasonable, kept it together.
No, I listened on my commute.
Wonderful writing. Better than Book 1, awesome follow-up. I was so on edge and had to stop listening several times in anticipation of what was going to happen to the character.
I'm an avid audible book listener. I am a huge fan of supernatural books and like stuff that is scary but well written. I live in Denver Co
I downloaded this right after finishing the first book. I looked forward to picking up where I left off and I will finish the series when the last book comes out.
No, I think this is the last
First book in the series was slightly better than the 2nd.
Not horrible for a novice effort but definitely 2nd tier material at best – some pretty weak writing at times with cardboard 2 dimensional characters (Shane is such a bad, BAD man! *shakes fist* Just you wait, he’ll get his comeuppance!), overwrought sexuality play that gets way too much attention, some pretty weak action sequences and awkward unrealistic dialog throughout – on the whole I really had a hard time caring about any of the characters at all. Stuck with the series for two to give it a chance but I think it stops here – there’s much, much better zombie genera material out there.
there are much better zombie adventures out there. tufo, runnels, keene, and espescially joe mckinney. Its not even that its from a girls perspective, its just plain blah
EOD wife and loving mother!!!
This book would have been better if there wasn't so much focus on sexuality. Some of the character's are also way over the top. It wasn't a bad listen, but there is better books out there. I do like some of the humor in this book.
