I love books but dont have time to read them as much anymore. Listening to Audibles since Day One I've been become an addict...I love books that are mainstream popular, whether it be fiction or non-fiction. I'll usually pick my books by reviews. Come check out my reviews to find your next favorite audible!
This book got me to downloading the entire series. I was never really into romance novels, but theres something about these characters, the writing of the book, the way the narrator told the story that made me into an audible addict. Yes, i agree with some that it was a slow start, but as i got into knowing the characters, i started listening to this on my commute to and from work as well as on my days off from work. MacLeod Andrews does a pretty good job changing up the voices and like all male narraters, he makes the females sound a little off, but hey you cant make all the different character voices perfect in an audio book. I am glad that they used the same narrater for the entire series.
As for the book, this is Clare's story and how she fell in love with Beckett. As for all series, you get introduced to everyone whos important in the series: Clare, her kids, Beckett, the Montgomery brothers, Justine, Hope and Avery. It also has a small side story line about a ghost and the Inn they are building. The ghost is kind of like a matchmaker cause shes the one who pushes the Montgomery brothers to think about the women in their lives. Anyway, its a nice listen while you are just laying back and relaxing. Hope you enjoy it like i did.
Like the story line
Didnt like the narration, absulotly at ALL
Made me smile
Anybody els who knows how deal with multiple characters and make me hear the difference. That is all.
As a romance book, yes it was
I feel disappointed cuz the same narrater did the next 2 books!! I am not going to waist my money to get the rest of the collection and give my self hard time.
Made me feel as if I was part of the story. I cried and I laughed ALLOT at the brotherly love! LOL
There is no comparison
I loved each and every one of them but Rider has it going on!
I did listen to all in one sitiing
I hated that the series of these books had to end. I wanted them to go on forever! I REALLY want to see a Hallmark or WE Movie made from these three books!
Totally enjoyed the close knit group of friends in this small town.
Beckett was my favorite. The young brothers, Harry, Liam & Murphy's voices were delightful!
Say something about yourself!
The hero was fantastic. One falls in love with him from the start. Masculine, and oh so sexy. One also cares for the Heroine soon. I love the snippets about the Inn being built, the ghost, the Heroine's Bookshop and her interaction with the Hero. I also liked the bit of suspense added.
The hero is incredible in dealing with and bonding with her thee wild boys. It makes you root for him and want the romance to work out so much. I also loved the DOGS!
Lovely voice, so well read.
Absolutely and I had to rush out and buy the other two books in the series with the greatest of urgency.
My first Nora Roberts. A fantastic author.
I have not read the print version.
The story's hero is sweet and sensitive. All of the characters are portrayed as "real" people.
Mr, Andrews's performance is very good. Even his female voices are believable.
The potions of the book wherein our hero bonds with the heroines children are particularly endearing, especially the superhero coffins.
I look forward to the rest of the trilogy.
Almost didn't get this book because of the reviews on the narrator. Glad I got it anyway, but I agree with the comments about the kids voices. They are awful, and when they come on I have to turn down the volume. Really annoying. I also set my player on 1 1/2 time so it sped up. That said, this is a good story. It is very detailed though, not sure every tiny detail of the house renovation had to be included. So another reason to speed it up. I enjoy this author's books sometimes, don't want them all the time. A little too sappy. But the interactions between family members are fun, the romance is good, the struggles of some of the characters add interest, and the ghost is charming. Even though it is predictable, getting there is entertaining. I'm sure I will get the others in this series.
This book is a great book to listen to. The narrator did a great job with this characters. I enjoyed listing to it, it was never boring. Mr. Andrews did a fantastic job capturing the personalities of each of the main characters. This is a great story of a family business and family and brotherly love. Also, it is about friendships, relationships and trust. I found it very entertaining, funny and suspenseful. I know I will listen to it over and over again.
It is a good book with a nice story - great for quilting and listening. Thanks to the person who recommended the 1X playback, it really improved the listen.
The Bride Quartet books by Nora Roberts
At regular the performance sounded lazy. The kids voices were irritating and the women's voices were marginal.
