I read them out of order; 2nd book, The Forgotten, I read first and loved Baldacci's new character, John Puller. Then when I read the synopsis for his new book, The Escape, about his brother Bobby, I had to read it as well. Couldn't wait to read his story of treason and escape from the inescapable prison. Next I read all the controversy about his first book of the series, Zero Day being a copycat of Lee Childs! Well that's just silly when you follow this thrilling well thought out series. I just finished it and I give the books all 5 star reviews! I highly recommend this new series and can't wait to see what the Puller men pull off next. ;-)
Superman in uniform... Always being superior, always the best in the room, always perfect... Small talk seems forced, dialogue trivial, over all story line mostly ridiculous.... I think I might rather have listened to golf on the radio!
I've listened to a lot of this writers books and generally consider him to be one of the better writers, but this book I had to force myself to finish...
I would not recommend this one to anyone.
Say something about yourself!
I could not get over how TERRIFIC the narration was. Have forgotten what a GREAT team of readers can do with a book. Plus I really enjoyed the story. Usually you have some idea of what is going to happen next --- but not here! And the characters have more depth and complexity than one usually finds in this genre. Can't wait to read the next two.
Not great. But good. Would not revisit this book. Once was enough. Not sure I enjoyed the sound effects which occasionally presented themselves. I wonder if the words didn't create enough drama. ??
I have a hard time believing this was written by a seasoned author. It was absolutely corny. I will give the next book a try.
Add suspense by it at least hinting toward what gets revealed in chapter 95
Not sure. Pretty let down. Gotta spend my credits wisely.
Fitting for characters
Yeah as long as the screen writer re writes it to add in the other side of story.
Could have been so much better.
The first few books of Baldacci were amazing. Now anytime I try to get back into his writing it seems a little too cookbook. Narrator was good for the type of book and having two narrators were even better. I was hoping for a leap to the past to his original books. This was note quite it. Not bad though and if you love espionage genre this will be better than most. Just not good enough for me to go to another Baldacci book. Off to another author.
