Listening to The Drop was like listening to a well orchestrated BBC series story sans the audio effects. The narrator Len Cariou (whose work I officially love) kept me enthralled and had me coming back for more and hoping that the book would not come to an end.
The change in pace and story from what I assumed was going to be a classic whodunnit turned out unepectadly to be something else (seriously didn't see that one coming) and the interactions between the characters made me forget that I was just listening to one person narrate the book, with Harry Bosch doing what he does best...being Harry Bosch. As always Michael Connelly tells a great story.
What a great performance! The way his voice inter-changed between the various characters, infused with different emotions from each character makes the listener experience the emotions the characters feel. The change in cadance of the book could be felt in his characters' voice.I must admit to expecting more plot twists as in previous Bosch books but was not disappointed with the final outcome.
The relentless Harry Bosch returns
The storyline wasnt too bad.
I havent listened to a book by him before but he speaks with a sort of lisp which can be very distracting. I wont listen to another one by him again.
