Say something about yourself!
Enjoyed listening to the biography of a man who embodied all that was human Perhaps he rode roughshod over some but always those persons would have turned out to be better human beings. Truth can never be compromised and that message comes screaming when we delve into Steve's life.
Isaacson does a thorough job of telling this real life and almost unbelievable tale.
It's great that he offers an opinion on the Mac vs everything else debate, and generally he does an excellent job, although sometimes his conclusions lack nuance.
I knew the order that everything happened in, but the brilliance of this book is the insight and detail into the people that it offers. So even as a technophile I learned a lot about key people, including Jobs and Gates. And Isaacson must be applauded for definitely not writing a one-sided account.
The narration was very professional but I never really got the feeling that I was being told a story - they were words being read.
History lover. Oil field owner. Milkshake drinker.
I am going to reread this book every year. Jobs' story is incredible and a great inspiration.
The tyrant who changed the world.
I loved it. Dylan Baker is a great narrator. I loved his work in Sedaris' books as well.
Grating, Genius & Determined
At first I almost stopped a third of the way in but am glad I persisted as the genius comes out more as you see why he did what he did, transforing not only the computing industry but also the music industry, not to mention the Pixar excellence. Its also an eye opener that high CEO's can be jerks and genius's all in one. He changed my world without me even knowing it, thank you, Steve Jobs.
I love scientific books, science fiction, books that reveal secrets, books about psychology, social behavior, physics, economics, inventions
This book has many stories to offer and what surprises is the objective view on the things that happened in the life of Jobs I personally really like the final words in the last chapter of Jobs himself.
I loved the biography, and thankful for being able to know the man from close. Wished the book also covered a more closer look on his personality, on how he spent his time, even if it would have made it longer... Absolutely facinating, honest, even on the dark sides. Thank you.
