Wow, that's a hard one. This is actually the first Tim Dorsey novel that I haven't read, but listened to. I had a much different idea of what Serge would sound like, but I liked his interpretation of Serge.
The craziness that is Serge A. Storms, as always. Who knew someone could create such a loveable psychopath!
The use of voices and the wide range he was able to cover. Very talented and enthusiastic.
The G-Unit. How they would get rid of the blonde news anchors, priceless! I aspire to be them when I grow up.
Get as much Tim Dorsey as you can into your life. You'll thank me later.
I love my audiobooks! Great for traveling.
I listened to about four of Dorsey's audiobooks. This one was atrocious and a pain to listen to. I think I listened to the first hour and just could not take it any more. I don't know whether the story is good. A narrator can make the story interesting but this narrator is horrible.
Oh, yeah....to all of them
None, really, it's a one of a kind!
Coleman is good, but when Serge gets his engine running, it's Serge all the way!
yes, no, wait......yes & no....wanted it to last forever!!
Just a fun listen!!
Not my favorite of the Serge series, but has it's moments. Short, 4 discs, get the impression that the author's publisher ordered him to write a short holiday themed story.
The story line was not as good as the longer books in the series.
I like the different voices for the different characters.
Funny, funny, chapter when Jim explains to Serge the secret to a happy marriage.
I am a huge Tim Dorsey fan. Don't start with this book, it will help to know the character from the early books in the series. This is book 14.
I am an Avid Reader, I love all different kinds of books, from Mystery to Sci Fi and Horror.
This is the best ever
Anything by David Sedaris, the comedy is roll on the floor laughing, I listened to this book at work and almost got in trouble for laughing so much.
When they come to Thanksgiving dinner with the mother in law there, I love the conversation with the daughter, about her boyfriend.
No, but I did like that the man gave jobs to the security guard and the manager of the store.
I would recommend this book to anyone, I bought it thinking it was just going to be a Christmas story, and it turned out to be the most hilariously entertaining book I have ever read. Forget Erma Bombeck or David Sedaris, Tim Dorsey is the new king of comedy writing.
It ranks about 6 our of 10.
How insane it was
My favorite scene was at the end when everyone celebrated Christmas together.
I was somewhat shocked at how casually murder of the bad guys was treated.
All in all, a very enjoyable and entertaining book.
Funny, engaging, entertaining
Any other Tim Dorsey book. He's in a class of his own
Great. He does the best Serge and Coleman.
Yes and I did.
I love Tim Dorsey and have read all his novels. This is the first one I listened to as an audio book as I commute to a different state during the week now.
Great crazy story as always-- we need alternative holiday books! The only thing I didn't like was Serge's voice. Sure he's manic and bipolar and whatever. BUt he is also a really large, strong, studly guy, and shouldn't have a weasely voice. He sounded more like bob newhart on speed than the Serge I had in my mind.
Very well done!
Great story and very well peformed by the reader.
I would recomend this to anyone who likes Christmas and laughter
