Now keep in mind that I did not know much about Steve Jobs before I listened to this book. It is an interesting story and there is much more to it than his life's work in technology. For a man obsessed with simplicity, he sure had a complicated life.
Good choice of narrator for the book too. It was easy to imagine it was Jobs himself talking in the book.
I found the audio version engaging & well read. Hats of to Dylan Baker!
There is no comparison! This is a one of a kind book about a one of a kind man!
Dylan Baker shows off his skills on this narration with excellent tone, cadence & tempo.
This book is thought inspiring! It is literally torture to put it down!
Steve Job's was a man that had EVERYTHING. In the end, he struggled to discover what was truly important in his life. As you listen, you will find yourself rooting for him and discovering that perhaps he's not that different from the rest of us after all.
reader's voice quality and inflection. Story itself is interesting -very human
choices and decision times along the way
I loved hearing about the private life of Steve Jobs, but the technical details included in this book were way beyond my technical knowledge!!!
It seemed to be an even handed honest look at Jobs' life. What made him tick, why he acted the way he did. It was an exciting inside look at the mind and life of a brilliant (and crazy) man.
I loved and enjoyed every bit of this audiobook.. excellent and well researched writing by Walter Isaacson and superb narration by Dylan Baker... highly recommended for every one... And one last thing...Steve, you were a genius and human race will miss you!!!
This is an excellent book. It is well written and tells the whole story, not just the good or bad. You don't have to be an Apple fan to enjoy the story of someone that starts a company in his garage and turns it into the most valuable company in the world. I would recommend this book to everyone.
This is such an important person in today's technological history. This book doesn't hold and punches and it opened my eyes to a lot of things I didn't know about Steve.
VERY cool way to glimpse into the life of someone who changes the world. I enjoyed every minute
I was on the fence if I wanted to take in a 25 hour audiobook, but it was well worth it. As a casual Apple fan, there was tons of stuff I did not know about the life of Steve Jobs. This book is not just an Apple book, and it isn't just for fanboys. It's a book for anyone who can appreciate a story about one of the greatest creative minds of any time. The material on Steve's ways of thinking (in advertising, design) are great business lessons for creative thinkers. The book drags a little when it gets to the more recent products, but that's my only criticism in an otherwise extremely (extremely!) satisfying listen.
