Couldn't get through it. Like walking in mud. I hope it ended well but I did not have the patience. Love George Guidall but even he couldn't make this sing.
get to the point and have story line that could be followed
Guidall is awesome as always
could not get through the entire book, very disapointing considering the high ratings
drink a lot of coffee when listening to keep awake
This plot was so confusing I never did really figure out what was going on. I just couldn't get into it. I only finished half of it! I think this is the first time I haven't finished a book! To be fair, I listen before bed, so I probably was not at my peak. I guess if you want a challenge give it a go!
A better plot. The only intrique was obvious and all the nastiness was petty; designed to shock and do very little more. After a while I lost interest in the characters. I didn't care what they did. I didn't like them. You could throw all of them into the basement as far as I am concerned.
Probably non-fiction. Just to get the bad taste out of my mouth.
He reads this beautifuly. The only reason I listened to so much of it was because he was reading it. But I'm disappointed that he agreed to read it. Usually he picks better books
I actually liked
If you can get past the racists rantings that make up the first 90 minutes of the audiobook, you'll find the story not worth the effort.
this book sounded wonderful from the review, but it's really only good for putting you to sleep or making you angry. hard to understand unless you speak at least 5 european languages, .... can't believe i bought this. waste of credit. basically the story of an anti-semite weirdo in the 1890's. yuck.
and just so you don't think i'm a dumb american, i have a genius iq and still disliked it.
