As usual E.J. has put everything into her Regency fairy tale - it's got passion, humour, romance, likeable characters who get themselves entangled in a sexy touching plot. Her books are usually an automatic download for me and if you listen to this then you will know why.
Worth a credit? Yes, and I hope to continue enjoying her books with many many more series.
Crazy for audiobooks!!
I enjoyed the simplicity of the book. The story line was simple easy to follow and quite enjoyable. The narration was very good by Susan Duerden and I will be looking for more audio books that she narrates. I still think the narrator is the one who makes or breaks the workings of an author.
I always enjoy a sassy woman. And lots of verbal fourplay is always fun. Would love to see this author convert more stories to Audio
I loved every word of this book. Loved Piers and Linnet and hated to see the story end. Loved Prufrock, best butler ever. Loved Doctors Kibbles and Bitts, that was too funny. Loved Sebastien. Loved the story reguarding his parents and how that all worked out. I simply loved the entire story. It was sad, happy, intense, everything you'd want in a fairy tale. AND the sex was just beautiful and didn't overwhelm the storyline. I would recommend this book to all romance readers.
As to the narrator: Ms. Duerden did a perfect job! I couldn't have asked for a better narrator for this book. Every voice was perfect and individual. You always knew who was talking and THAT makes for great narration. IMO..
I would also like to say that the description tells us what the book is about or we can zip over to Amazon and look at reviews. This is AUDIBLE! What we need to review is the narrator. Does he or she suck? Why? Is he or she too nasal-y, too sweet for the kind of book he or she is reading, to gruff, too bland, too robotic, lacks emotion. Is he or she doing nothing but reading the book? Not changing his or her voice for the male and female voices? Is the narrator sounding the same whether she or he is reading a whisper spoken?
Most of us on AUDIBLE don't really care what the book is about. We want to know about the narrator! This is AUDIBLE, after all.
Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm an addict.
Piers was like House by Hugh Laurie, cranky and way too smart for his britches. Of course I loved him for that. Nothing like being a smart ass, it is so fun. I love how at first Linnet treats Piers as if he is her gay friend, cracks me up. The ending had me a bit worried how it was going to end, but as in most romances it prevailed and made a fun romance with great characters. This book made my day at work fly by, which is an indicator of how good it was.
I was pleasantly surprised by this listen. the write up did not do it justice.
It was filled with witty banter from start to finish plus the narration was excellent!
If you are in the mood for a great, witty romance, look no further.
I enjoyed this book however I liked A kiss before midnight a little better. The main character (male) is pretty mean. I am looking forward to the next book in the series!!
When I search for books I all to often forget how much I enjoy Eloisa James. I guess I'll get another of her books right away.
Hilarious, emotional, intriguing.
Linett...she's thrown into a situation that's out of her control, but she makes the best of it.
Yes, I have and Susan is awesome.
Yes, this is one of those books, that keeps you tuned in to every nuance.
Awesome, to read and to listen to as well...highly recommended!!!!
