If you want to be challenged, and stretched for the better, get ready for a wild ride. Facts about food, technology, and human relationships are astounding! Thank Joel for old fashioned words of wisdom. You and God have forever changed my family.
Joe just tells it as it is and I can see the frustration he encounters and all the things he's going through and if you've ever tried to be in a farmer's market or ever tried to buy some of these products it is set up against the small business man there is no way that they want us to be small businessman because then they cannot control everything
This book goes in to detail, what is wrong with American food system, why we are getting ill, how to fix it. Most importantly it exposes how we have become the property of the state, and have lost essential freedoms to the Federal government.
I absolutely love this book!! This man, Joel Salatin, has more common sense than every world leader, teacher, politician, life coach, counselor, you name it, put together. He is like a breath of more than fresh clean air, he's like revival!! Fantastic in every way!! Bravo Bravo!!!
I share the same experiences and history as Joel.
But I am just now beginning to realize how important it is to embrace the past so hopefully we can teach these skills and impart this knowledge to the younger generation.
Salatin walks through the gamut of agricultural, regulatory and political reasons that our food and health systems are not what they ought to be. His reading is immensely enjoyable and I was able to get through it in about a week. Look forward to his other books.
The ideas presented in this book are truly wonderful. It mostly involves food, but it also tackles self-responsibility and mindset. I loved every word, and having Joel Salatin read it himself added to it quite a lot. Him, laughing at his own jokes and putting enthusiasm behind everything he wrote really adds to the enjoyability of this great book.
We're so blessed to have a man like Joel going to battle for our human rights to choose and self govern. I am responsible for my body and the space that contains it. We need to stand up and speak as a society. WE elect our officials, they're suppose to represent the peoples voice, not dictate what they believe to be right or wrong to save us from ourselves.
