BEST BOOK EVER!
Everyone should read this book. I think Joel should be president of the US!
This is a must read for anyone who cares anything about the quality of the food you eat or the freedom to choose the food you eat.
There is an abundance of information in this book that covers so many facets of our food in general and the industrial food system versus heritage and traditional food systems. You might even say it's an over abundance. Read or listen several times over. It's worth every minute many times over!
Each re-read will give you another "ah ha!" that you didn't catch the first time around.
Read this book and share it with as many others as possible.
If only everyone would listen or read this book! Unfortunately folks who already know and care about the things that are happening to our food rights are probably the only people reading this type of literature. Required reading for all!!! My kids are going to read this whether they want to or not! Fabulous, informative, packed with content! This is not one of those waste of words books. Thanks, Joel. Keep on keeping on. You are hope incarnate.
This is been an absolutely fabulously mind opening presentation of all the minute details of farming that most don't think about. The intellect behind this book is quite obvious. I picked this book up after reading The omnivores dilemma, and these two books coupled with some food documentaries, have opened my eyes to some of the overly regulated bureaucratic agencies hindering sustainable food production. Thanks Joel Salatin for all you do! I recommend this book for everyone!
This book is fantastic a very no nonsense full of common sense book that is very easy to listen to and understand.... The title is exactly what you get...
Some of the bizarre stories about things his customers have expected to find in the field, ie. skinless boneless breasts running around! or dinosaur shaped nuggets!....
I loved his description of his ideal home...
His humor and passion.
This book made me laugh and get very excited about the possibilities and have a greater understanding of the current issues.
I love this book and I highly recommend it!
Joel Salatin provides a candid essay on the state of our food system, the complicity of government, and the responsibility we each have to take action now to effect desperately needed changes. Read (or listen to) this eye-opening book and a few pages out of Joel's book!
