Beautifully written, managing to tie up all the loose ends of the series while crafting an intrigueing story all its own.
Bonnie's father, John Gallow, has previously been seen as a crazy man probably responsible for her murder. In this book a deeper side of John is sensitively unfolded and draws the emotions of the listener into reevaluating their previous take on John Gallow.
I love listening to Jennifer Van Dyck, her character portrayals and subtle inflections really bring the storylines to life. This book is no exception and has greatly benefited from Jennifer's talents.
Definately, and did so. I challenge anyone to switch off in the middle of this one.
The valiant story of Eve Duncan deserved a great conclusion, and this gives this series an appropriate end.
As a mother of a child who was missing overnight, the memory of what I went through still haunts me 15 years later. But to be the mother of a child who is missing and not found. I couldn't cope. I would hold on to any clue that would lead me to them, just as Eve has done. The twists and turns that had me hurtling towards her ultimate goal was all encompassing. I couldn't sleep until it was over. There were oh so many tears and heart wrenching sobs, and then there was peace. I looked at my children and felt blessed and then my puppy kissed my tears away.
I had to listen to all three consequtively.
First, this is the third book in a series that is really more like one story broken into three books. This is the end of the story. It was great to finally find out what happened to Bonnie. The writing pulled you along and you had to find out how it ended. Looking forward to the future development of Eve Duncan now that Bonnie is not the driving force.
This book was great from start to finish. Started reading/listening to this series in the last year. Its a great conclusion for little Bonnie, while explaining things to listeners that may not have read/listened to the whole series. I love Iris Johasen's books. They keep you guessing to the very end!! I really do hope she keeps writing with Eve and Joe as charactors. We dont want this to be the end of them also!!
