I travel the country setting up at comic, toy, sci-fi, and horror conventions. Audiobooks help with the travels.
Yes, it was quite entertaining
The plot twist that changes everything. Must read.this will change everything of what you know.
This was a truly enjoyable book. As a fan of the TV show, the story of the Governor prior to Woodbury was never really told. It was great to see into his mind, into his experiences, and bring about understanding to why he acted the way he did. Insight is always key with complex character, and this book starts to give it. I am in the midst of book two, and enjoying it immensely.
Graphic, shocking, awesome!
I cannot think of any other book, right now. I can compare this to the show, the telltale video game and sort of, the last of us video game. While listening, I could "see" both the show and games in my head. I don't know if that's good or bad to you, but it was great to me :)
Great emotion and caring. It was like I was really living the story, like I was there. I was holding my breath, thinking RUN!!! Hurry, grab everything you can find! Etc etc
The last few chapters made me say "Wait. What? Did that just happen? Oh god! I can't believe it!"
Awesome! I loved ever minute. Well, OK, nearly every minute. This is not a "happy" story. It is a story of survival. Sometimes people do things they would never have thought about. Sometimes people do things they didn't think they were capable of doing. Sometimes people do whatever they have to, just to survive. Sometimes people are heroes. Sometimes people are monsters. And sometimes people break...I listened to it twice in about 2 weeks while at work. I also bought the 2nd book in both kindle and audible. I am planning to get the 3rd book, part one and two. BTW book 3 part 2 is showing a release date of 3/2014 per Amazon.com.
Definitely! There was so much going on throughout the entire story. I will definitely be listening to this again.
The surprises. I thought I pretty much knew what was going to be the outcome of this book. I was completely wrong!!!
Narrator was excellent. He did a really great job with the volatile Phillip.
Anger, so many characters infuriated me in this story.... Other characters made me feel so sad! This is a well written book! Can't wait to read part 2.
I put off reading this book, because I watch the show. I didn't want to waste a credit if they were exactly the same. But the book is so much better than the show. (as usual)
boring, predictable, maybe the vulgarity could be excepted if not for the story....looking for a walking dead fix can i get my money back
as good as possible
Fantasy geek, literature lover!
I'd reccomend it to anyone who likes the TV show in particular and the comics too. The book evokes the world of despair and
Brian, its "descent" into villainy. Philip is just a tad too crazy.
His performance as Philip was too much "cooked", if you get my meaning. He seems always on the point of breaking, it's just too much. Well done as for Nick and the Chalmer sisters. The Penny-Brian relationship too.
No, please... I'd be seriously worried if it had!
OK the southern accent: marked but still understandable for us not US residents. Berman's a professional, of course, and he does his job with a certain skill. His Philip was really annoying, sometimes too much.
Just love listing to audiobooks. Some of my favorite authors are Vince Flynn and Brad Thor
Yes, if you love just really good zombie books this is for you. Also, if your a fan of the show you will love it as well
Brian, his development threw out the hole book.
The final scene.
Just a great movie for the zombie fan!!
Probably, its a pretty good story, but the terrible editing take away from it alot
I have not
Yes, but barely
Tons of really stupid technical mistakes. Not just the annoying little stuff that fanboys love to point out, but stuff that a lot of everyday people would pick up on. For examples, Ford doesn't make the S-10 pickup, Chevy does and The Delta Force is not part of the Marine Corps. These are just two GLARING examples. There's a lot more subtle stuff two, things that any 5th grader with an internet connection could have check on and corrected. One or two of these is understandable, but this book is LOUSY with them! It really takes away from the experience.
One of my favorite books listened to it twice now.
I've read the actual book and I liked it but Berman's performance made me love it very well done
The narrator did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. Each personality sounded unique and he was capable of translating the emotional turmoil the characters experience within storyline perfectly!
The storyline became a little overwhelming at times, to the point that all their great escapes and small victories felt hurried & un- impressive after a while.
It truly is a good story, but if you are looking for a book that will leave you with any kind of fondness for the characters that you stared of the journey with; this book is not for you!
I believe that the audiobook brings a new depth in the characters, specially that of Phil's brother. The audio book narration gives you a even deeper concept of the emotional disarray & confusion this character go's thru, even from before the zombies started to hit the fan.
The walking dead; Death of all hope.
(corny, but I bet that once you read it; you will understand)
