I haven't finished listening to Seriously, I'm Kidding. I save it for times when I need to be pulled back from the edge of a dark funk. When I'm feeling down, I start listening to that particular CD because I know it will make me laugh!
Yes, I would listen to it again, because I know, even the second time, it will still be as funny and intertaining.
I'm not finished yet.
I like that Ellen reads the book herself. It's almost as good as watching her show.
Absolutely recommended. Ellen's sense of humor never dissapoints! She's able to seamlessly combine her very real thoughts on life and her charming wit in an infectious way that leaves you wanting more.
This book feels more like a stand-up special. So to describe
Not only does she devote a chapter just to making random noises for audible users, but hearing her perform her work in the way she intended makes the book that much more enjoyable!
It certainly made me laugh!!
Only if they were really bored. Bought it to listen to while driving. I laughed a little but she went off on a few tangents that (sorry) weren't really that funny
not really. Just watch her show on tv
She is so funny and I love her but there were a few chapters that were just her rambling and not where I was laughing just getting annoyed. I actually skipped to the next chapter a few times.
Love her love her love her. Save the rambling for your tv show and give us more of you.
Funny, natural, and sympatico
The very natural delivery of her thoughts. It made me feel like a friend listening to another friend share.
Ellen being Ellen is always enjoyable. She does a great job again with this. If you like her you will definitely like this. Go ahead it's fun.
I would want to hear about personal aspects and stories from the author’s life, one that is almost certainly filled with a combination of heartbreak and joy. I understand the author wants to keep her life private—which is fine. Perhaps better to stick to standup than waste readers’ time with what felt like filler. I really felt like she was just killing time. (Which she even professes to be doing in one or two instances.) The worst part was that I felt she was killing my time—time that I was hoping to spend learning, growing, with a few laughs mixed in.
Her personality. I can even imagine reading it.
More substance? Meh, I know what I was getting. :)
She's really animating. Her voice and pace makes it sound like you're listening to her show, instead of just being read to. She's a pro. There're also occasional accompanying music/ sound effects that are quite pleasant.
I would have liked to know more about her personal life, struggles, and how she overcame them.
I actually like the book, although, the sequence can give you a bit of a headache. It's entertaining, and that's about all you should expect. But, overall, this audiobook will make you smile.
Yes, Ellen is funny
No favorite. Just Ellen
I don't know
I love Ellen. She is so funny and a pleasure to listen to
Yes, when I enjoy a book I will read it more than once.
It was almost like listening to her on Tv.
I did it in two.
I expected more substance. I enjoy Ellen's humor and conversations on her show, however this contained so many short comments, asides, and unrelated content that it was more a rambling rather than a collection of short life stories with content.
I will download other books of humor, but will not do a repeat of an Ellen book.
I usually enjoy Ellen's presentations and especially her inflections even in this book, but I would not purchase another audio book of hers.
Please no follow-up book, if the content rambles and is as disconnected as this one.
I only listened to the last 1/4 of the book because I feel obligated to finish all books I begin.
