Not much meat on the bones, as they say. Ellen is such a bright, funny woman — filled with wisdom and insights. But this book felt more like ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) SCHTICK — oh look, a bright, shinny penny — rather than insights and wisdom communicated WITH humor. Sorry Ellen, I love you and your show, but not this book.
I love Ellen. I think her stand-up is wonderful. I love watching clips from her show.
This audiobook was so random, and so less-than-funny, that it seemed like Ellen was basically paid to write (and then read) words on a page, most of which were not particularly entertaining. Many of the anecdotes were stream-of-consciousness and had no real weight. I was ultimately disappointed with the lack of content in this 3+ hour audiobook. Save your money and buy something else!!
Love to laugh
So much fun
Some serious good nuggets among lots of humorous stories
This is great as an audio book because you get to hear her humor, not just read it.
loved this book. I listened to it on my commute back and forth to work. Sometimes I was actually laughing out loud! It was like riding the train with a very funny friend! Such an easy read / listen
