Just like you, I spend my money here and am not on any author's payroll :)
Although he could ditch the Esperanto - a great, entertaining listen....so much so that I listened to it twice on a long business trip. The stories are great and Bill is very, very articulate....about everything!
Definitely not on impulse power at 80 years old - hope I can be that way if and when that time comes...:)
Yes - good performance.
There are some classic one-liners but I must get a translation of the 10 minutes worth of rubbish in some random language. That joke could have ended 2 minutes in.
Passes the time, but doesn't amaze.
Shatner is fun to listen to. Very self serving but that's always been a part of what makes Shatner tick. Overall this is a light hearted autobiography masquerading as self help book. Should you get this book? Yes (sorry for the spoiler).
a great book! it's nice to know that the way i felt Mr. Shatner, seems to be the way he is. yes Bill most of us feel you are a friend and mentor.
and trust me if i ever see you on the street, i will say "beam me up" just so i can hear you say.......(buy the book if you don't know)
free plug no negotiating needed, and i wont take your underpants.
Charming, funny, and chock-full of truly good advice for living and loving life! Bill is, an inspiration - forever young and forever filled with vigor and joy! The audio book is an utterly separate work of entertainment and you will want itt: highly recommended!
William Shatner gets better and better with age. He personifies 80 years young! Here's to as many decades as we can get, enjoying him as a performer, writer and person! And let's not forget--Dobie guy!
Any self-respecting fan of Danny Crane will love the way William performs this book. I feel that the book is a bit lacking in substance and I might have found it difficult to read, although listening to the book being performed by the author is a treat.
Insights to his family and how he never took Star Trek seriously to start with I found interesting. I suppose the book didn't really grab me as much as I thought it would, I'm not disappointed I'm just not blown away.
It's all good, he's getting on now and for a man at his age (80) to be so clear in his communication and thought is really something. It's as it should be... even though his story in this book didn't really resonate with me I did want to hear it because of William Shatner's performance. Well done.
Who the hell is Chris Regan?
Good listen, scratched an itch I had.
Shatner continues to entertain. He is a fireball at 80, with a great sense of humor. It is an enjoyable journey with Bill.
