I loved the story the whole book was so greatly done....you must get this one and enjoy
Loved this story, it is one that I will listen to, every year, at Christmas. Enjoyed it as much as the Christmas Sweater! The dual narrators, both excellent, really made it come alive. Very well written and performed, I highly recommend!
Definitely! Listening to it again will allow the listener to acquire deeper messages and applications, beyond the first hearing of the plot.
The realism...and the deep commitments in relationships described.
The spunk of the little girl who encouraged her mother to leave the abusing father.
Not extreme, but it tugged on the heart strings...as I have observed spouse abuse.
Vocabulary is beautiful! Makes it great to listen to, with eyes closed, as imagination is colored so well with the words.
it was a very true-to-life story about how sometimes we can take a bad life and turn it around yet we can never truly fix everything from our past. It is what it is.
When Mitch was watching his granddaughter make snow angels through the window
It took a while to get used to 2 voices in the story, but after a bit it seemed the natural thing to do. Both were great.
Wouldn't rename it, it is perfect
For me it hit very close to home so sometimes I had to turn it off because it would dredge up my past to the point of making me cry. However, it is a good story and just like in my own life, the story illustrates how things can become better.
I enjoyed the way it was delivered, one perspective was the day before Christmas, the other day by day on the way to the same Christmas.
Made me remember something that happend to me and my kids, 30 years ago. Actually brought a tear to my eyes.
Actually enjoyed the entire story.
Yes the ending, as noted above.
Very enjoyable book/audio. Worth reading....
This story had me captured from the first page. I can't even explain how I felt at the end and yes I did cry! I would recommend this book to anyone. Family is so important.
The file crashed my ipod serval times. The story is not that great. Big Glenn Beck fan but the pacing is off on this book. The Overton Window is just okay but compared to this it is a master piece. I stoped listening the 4th time it crashed my ipod nano. The story is okay. Just strange. I have 5 audible books I got that work great on my nano but for some reason this book is a problem. i would stay away from it. But everyone has different tastes. Don't say you have been warned.
He could have narrated it himself and fixed the pacing. Arguing with Idiots is genius.
The narrator of this book was terrible.
Just disapointment. I got this book because I had big hope for it. I even gave the hard back to my mom. I apologized to her. Need to get her a better book. Luckly I have way better success with other books I got.
Strange errors with my ipod nano and a terrible story. You have been warned. Worst out of the 5 books I got here.
Story starts a little slow and alternates back and forth between characters but hang in there is is really worth your time. My husband & I listened together and we both enjoyed it. Beck is a great writter.
