"Makes You Think"
I am more into supernatural stuff, but I bought this book for Tavia Gilbert, who I feel is the best narrator ever. That said, I was into it, the story is different, not very plausible maybe, but it pulls you in. The writing is smooth and it flows nicely, very visual. It ends abruptly, I see there is another book in the series and I will download that eventually, but I'm not rushing for it. If there was a different narrator, I don't think I would like it as much, Tavia Gilbert is just really good, so I'm going to recommend this one, if for no other reason then her reading of it.
"This Is A Great Book!!!"
Yes, only if you like to sit or lay down and imagine the book while its read to you!!!
I liked the genre of the book and some of it was actually funny!
No, but she did a wonderful job!
I laughed soo hard, a little boy first thought to be a girl loved to wear a 'tutu'!
This book was written very well and was packed full of adventure. I only have 1 complaint.... The main character 'Eve' was a very dumb character. She is like the girl in the movie Twighlight. They make the dumbest choices that skrew over everyone else around them. You just want to give them a wakeup slap and tell them not to be soo stupid!
"Did she really need to be so dumb?"
I really wish this would have been more enjoyable. I liked the idea of the story. It's basically a good strong story but the girl drove me crazy. I understand she didn't grow up knowing "caution" and she was extremely sheltered and lied to. BUT there's just some things that are common sense, or you fear for your life enough to not make a dumb decision. I feel like there could have been other ways to make drama and suspense without this girl, Eve, making such dumb decisions.
I may listen to the next book just to see what happens. By the end she is a much more likeable character and I'm interested to see if she continues to get a backbone and some sense.
"very weak story ...expected a lot more from it"
I think more suspense because it was way too predictable for me.
I would probably give it a try only if her books going to to be on a huge sale. I wouldnt waste my credit on it.
I wouldn't cut anything , but i would enhance certain parts to make it more interesting.
"Title may be misleading but try reading it anyway."
Although written for a young adult audience, I found the plot and characters developed enough to hold my interest. There are some solid moral viewpoints that have me wondering where the author is heading with this series. At least I'm hoping there will be a continuation.

"Adults killing and raping kids! WTF?"
Seriously I thought this was going to be an interesting book when I first started out plus it was an AR (accelerated reader) book so I gave it a chance. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? Since when do we want our kids reading about ppl killing each other? You have the adults who are in charged of building a new world trying to catch all the girls but Eve herself they desperately want just to impregnate her so the King of this new world can finally have an air of his own. They send all the girls to "school" just to strap them down to beds on the day of "graduation" and impregnate them. All the lil boys are basically slave workers. When the kids try to run for freedom they shot them down like they are garbage or a rabid dog to be put down? REALLY?! WTH?
further more the story itself did not flow. You don't see the "love" grow start or hell even really ignite between Eve and Caleb but all of a sudden they are in love and on the run together.......(when and were did this happen)? Eve goes from believing all men are evil to head over hills in love in the space of a second. There was never any description of the people we read about so we are pretty much left with having to wonder just what these ppl look like? Caleb had never been in school like Eve has but he seems to know awhole lot more then Eve ever does.
There was so many things wrong in this book I could spin hours telling you what all I found wrong, but I will leave it at this is not for all and I REALLY DO NOT THINK YOUNG KIDS/PRE TEENS should read this book.
"Enjoyable"
If I was listeneing with someone that had not heard it before- I do not usually re- read things
