Absolutely! It's a terrific book and an excellent performance.
The Lost Hero, the first book in the Heroes of Olympus series.
Joshua Swanson does an excellent job with energy and voices.
Jesse Bernstein was the reader of the first 5 Percy Jackson books and his was a hard act to follow. In "The Lost Hero" Joshua Swanson took awhile to warm to his work, but don't be discouraged. He hits his stride in this book and really did a terrific job.
Yes, I would, even though they are still a middle school read I will.
That Rick is maturing the books as the kids (like myself) who read the first books in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians grow up and still can read the books.
Yes! but of course i couldn't cause of the daily toils of high school.
Bass God in Training
This story is more exciting than the previous books! I really enjoyed the fish out of water element, and Percy not remembering who or where he was!
The whole book was riveting! I couldn't pick a most memorable moment.
My favorite scene was the main characters tricking the God out of his home in Alaska by dragging him 10 miles into Canada!
I'm a corporate training consultant and adjunct professor who loves to read! I'm always looking for the next big thing.
I love Rick Riordan's take on mythology. All of his Percy Jackson books (as well as the Kane Chronicles) have been terrific. Admittedly, I liked the first Percy Jackson series just a bit more than the Heroes of Olympus series. Even so, it's still a great read, and I am incredibly hopeful that more and more people will become interested in mythology because of these books.
Just addicting. I can't stop listening even when I was preparing for my midterm exam, which annoyed my mother greatly. But it was totaly worth it.
A nice addition to the Percy Jackson series - easily followed and enjoyable for many age levels. My family listened to this while traveling for vacation - enjoyed by all.
I love Rick Riordan's natural style. His action is perfectly plotted and his dialogue sparkles. His characters are believable and endearing. The narrator did a great job giving voice to Percy, a daunting task when so many of us have a preconceived notion about what this awesome hero should sound like. This book was another great installment in a series I've grown to expect only the best from. The audiobook is excellent, and I would highly recommend it.
Really loved it.
Creative and imaginative.
Great character variation.
Can't wait for the next one in the series.
