Just Boring! I like Eve, but not this story. Reader voice was sharp, hard to listen to, could hardly wait until it was over or at least got better.
I love reading J.D. Robb....I have all of the paperback novels however I have never been so disappointed with an audio edition as I was with this novel.I have always had a clear vision of what the characters would sound like and the narrator had all the characters soooo wrong...Roark is suppose to have a hint of Irish in his voice and Ms. Erickson had him sounding like he just got off the docks.Det Peabody is suppose to be a person that is sympathetic and comes from a Free Age family and sounded more like a Rottweiler
Since I had already read all the J.D. Robb novels I had a sense off what the characters would sound like and most characters were not bad but the ones that were bad were really bad.I would think twice about purchasing an audible novel read by this narrator.
Say something about yourself! I HAVE BEEN SO BUSY THAT I FORGOT TO HAVE A MID LIFE CRISES. I AM 70 NOW. FINALLY, I HAVE TIME FOR BOOKS
I HAVE OVER 12 OF THIS SERIES BUT THEY ALL SEEM TO HAVE THE
SAME STYLE AND NOW I HAVE HEARD ENOUGH. I THOUGHT THE SEX
WAS TOO DESCRIPTIVE ALMOST PORNOGRAPHIC. I WANT A MYSTERY NOVEL MORE THAN THAT. THE BOOK WOULD HAVE BEEN
BETTER IF SHE SAID THEY THOROUGHLY ENJOYED EACH OTHER AND EACH OTHERS BODIES.HE COULD NEVER GET ENOUGH OF HER. NOT AS DESCRIPTIVE AS SHE DOES IT. IN FACT I DIDN'T GET THE NEXT BOOK BECAUSE OF IT. I HAVE HEARD ONLY 6 OF THE BOOKS WE HAVE. THAT'S ENOUGH FOR ME.
I CALL IT FORMULA WRITING. I'M SEXUALLY SATISFIED SO TAME THE SEX. MY ANSWER IS----NO
DROP THE FORMULA STYLE
Unable to complete this survey - we attempted to listen to this book from my Kindle and were unable to raise the volume high enough to hear it while driving in our car. We were most disappointed.
Wish the Kindle could be turned up so we could hear the book we bought for our trip.
