I've purchased this book years ago when it was first printed. I was glad to see Audible with an unabridged version of this story. Thanks.
easy going!!! HA
I guess I'll do another detetive story
I enjoy his voice probably wouldn't of finished it if I had read it!
Just the story teller
I can't imagine anyone would.
Pretty good performance, he should definitely be more selective of what he reads though
This book and it's typical judgemental Christian views were infuriating. I have never written a review but this book was so ridiculous that I feel I need to warn people. This book is described as a supernatural thriller with no mention of Christianity. However, the author lets you get three quarters of the way through before dropping his archaic belief system and values on you with all the subtlety of an anvil. I enjoy reading about comparative religions, I have no problem with thought provoking discussions of Christianity but (spoiler alert) the sins of a town manifesting into an actual dragon and eating the townspeople who don't have Jesus in their hearts is effing nonsense. Wtf. The deputy sheriff is marked for death by a dragon for leaving her abusive husband rather than staying him because she made a vow in a church. Are we as a society not past these petty beliefs or maybe that was the authors point, Maybe we should just start stoning people in the streets when they sin.
I half blame audible for not categorizing this book as Christian fiction. I never would have read it and I wouldn't be so angry that I wasted a portion of my life doing so.
crazy about books
This was my first Frank Peretti book and I can't wait to read more. It was a great story with many twists and turns. Tom Stechschulte is a wonderful narrator.
This isn't a horror novel. It's a feel smug about yourself if you're a Christian novel. Start with William Blatty if you want religious horror fiction. The Exorcist is terrific, and it shows infinite more understanding of our relationship with God than this book. I can't believe I made it to the end.
A lot of things, the speaker, voice seemed to be fake creepy a lot of the time.
The ridiculous plot.
The sub-plot of moralistic christianity.
Narrator was well matched with the one star rating I gave the book
Probably all of them
I'm going to see if I can return this to Audible due to overall total dissatisfaction.
