Very drawn out but oveall nice. Unrealistic development of love interest, so no surprises there and the usual rolling of the eyes. But still love the aristocratic element, she does it so well. This is an interesting intro to a new cynster story. The laird is soooo sexy! Can't wait to see his story, hope that comes soon
thank you for the quality of storyteller and for presenting such a great story, I will definitely look for more books by this author and also read by this presenter. Not raced, storyline good twists, all prepared to detest the villian ... damn, he's not unlikable! Really glad I downloaded it.
The book, possibly. This audiobook, with this narrator, absolutely not!
No. He does not appear to recognize the difference between a comma and a period. Too many phrases were read as if full sentences. Seems like his focus was on enunciating his words to the exclusion of all else. Slow and plodding and expressionless. I have to say he was just about the worst narrator I have ever heard on Audible. Buy the book instead.
Tell us about yourself!
The first half of the story was so boring I almost stopped listening. The second half was better but it had sex scene after sex scene. I like hot sexy romances but it got a bit tedious.
I actually have another one in this series downloaded but I can't bring myself to listen to it.
I think the narration was fine and Viscount Breckinridge's voice was sexy but the female voices were terrible. I hate male narrators so much. They always make women sound stupid.
It inspired me to consider returning it.
The book really dragged in some places. I totally tuned out for 10-20 minutes in some parts and didn't seem to miss anything.
I was disappointed in Mr. Brenher's performance. He kept pronouncing Catriona's name as Katrina. He also gave Richard a Scottish accent even though he's an Englishman.
The story was good
Held you attention. Contained adventure, romance, mystery.
I did not care for the narrator.
The story was boring and I did not like the narrator.
Oh this so-called historical romance is to be avoided at all costs. It is neither historical nor romantic, but literally a bodice ripper. I ripped my bodice in desperation at the lack of historical research, the silliness of the story and the hilarious mistakes in language, such as:that will take him down "a peg or three!"
No, I didn't finish it.
Wasn't the best but wasn't the worst.
Another historical romance that Stephanie Laurence rights. She a very consistent author.
He was pretty mono tone.
Some parts are funny yeah
