It was like the narration was arbitrarily choosing words to emphasize... Instead of choosing the words a real person would.
Example: imagine walking into a room, and saying "well, it's about time we get going."
Narration would say it like :
".. it's about time we *GET* going" Or
".. It's about time *WE* get going" OR..
"well, *IT'S* about time we get going"
Point is, it make it sound like the characters are just 😕 confused. Clearly narrator (or director/producer) often didn't understand.
Beyond that, it was Okay...ish.
Leia sounded so unsure of herself.
HAN sounded like The Tick doing a Han impression. Lol
I enjoyed the book and found the performance very good... Lol while I appreciated the effort of the rookie voice it did get a bit annoying.
Overall a solid story
In short, The story was great and the narrator was incredible.
I really liked the extra sound effects and music, it really enhanced the experience. The story stays thrilling the whole time, and has interesting and varied characters. And, I forgot how absolutely nice it is to hear a story that doesn't jump around all over the place and leave you with 4 constant cliffhangers *coughgameofthronescough*.
My only real complaint with the story is that the only characters with any development are actually the smugglers--that, and neutralizing jedi with a random kryptonite mechanic feels a bit forced (get it?). The only problem with the narrator whatsoever is the same problem I have with all male narrators: they're not very good at female voices. I wish there were a female narrator for the chapters focusing on the female characters.
Other than those few complaints, a spectacular story, production, and narrator worthy of the Star Wars universe.
Wow, this was outstanding! The voice acting was superb! I'm not sure if they had different actors or if the narrator was just very good with voices but every character sounded unique. Coupled with well done sound effects and excellent use of music, and the audio side of this production is perfect.
But it doesn't stop there, the story is just as well done. The author has written characters and a story that feel distinctly Star Wars, making the reader feel like they want to grab a light saber and go on an adventure.
It may no longer be officially canon, but this story is still worth the money and the time to listen!
The narrative is very creative with all the sound effects and especially the voice actors that sound just like the real movie characters . Great listen - enjoyed it immensely.
