Dan is a likeable nutcase with a compulsion to protect. The antics are gruesome, yet funny. John Keating voiced the characters well, and I was drawn into the world of Cloisters, New Jersey and whisked to Ireland & the Lebanon on occasion.
I'm a Cardiac Anesthesiologist with two college aged children. I used 2 check my kid's books for appropriateness & now enjoy those books 2.
Mostly a children's book writer that has branched off to a higher plain. This book is very fun. It has a lot of emotion and action. He brings in the characters personality and all of his flaws slowly with a grace only Colfer can display.
I have enjoyed all of his books; even though I started reading him because my daughter started. I'm a true believe in knowing what my kids are reading. and I have found many fantastic writers that I enjoy from my children's books. My kids are older now so I'm not as protective of their books and in so stating; this is not a children's book.
Amusing, if a bit profane. Narrator's accent needed work. Worth a credit? - just barely. Check.
The voices made the story. I believe it was funnier because of the voice inflection and tha accents.
Fun not serious book.
Plugged feels like a traditional detective noir story.
It's complete with the hero getting knocked around, sultry (nutty) women coming after him, and mysteries to be solved.
John Keating showed me a lot of humor I'd have missed if I'd read the paperback.
This is a fun way to spend some time. You'll laugh. You'll care enough about the characters to stay til the end. You'll want more Eoin Colfer to listen to.
If you like juvenile fantasy BTW, Colfer's Artremis Fowl series is awesome.
Yes. I enjoyed the characters, the plot and the lovely Irish voice.
I like the main character in and interaction through the tale.
It was the scene in the back parking lot. Love the action of that scene
Really enjoy his voice a lot! I hope to hear more of him as this character
No extreme reactions but it was very tale.
I really got hook on Eoin Colfer from his children's series Artemis Fowl. I like his leap into this genre and hope to see more.
Blind Vietnam veteran. Antique weapons collector. Outdoor enthusiast. Florida State University graduate with Business major. Owner of home health agency. registered nurse.
Exciting and suspenseful
Compares very favorable to The Lincoln Lawyer
Keating did an excellent job. Keating's vocal adaptations were perfect for the characters.
The book made me laugh. It was not a comedy but it was written tongue in cheek. It was wonderful entertainment.
I would like more books by this author.
John's Irish accent and spot-on inflections made this hero bigger than life! The author takes the reader/listener on a roller coaster ride with interesting characters, especially the one in the hero's head.
