It may often be easier to go with the flow, but it is more rewarding to do that which is right.
Once again, Will Wheaton had done an excellent job. Great story. Well worth the money.
Ernest Cline weave an interesting sci-fi world (that could very well mirror our society's fate), but never does much more with that world or the characters who populate it than simply weave a variation of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory with an over abundance of gamer & pop culture references. Entertaining for sure, but much like modern Triple A game releases, there's a lot of gloss, polish and hype, but little depth and not much incentive to replay the story.
I don't normally listen to audio books but the inflection of the reader and then creative twists and turns of the story kept me mind blown the whole story through.. I just finished it and I think I'm going to listen through again!
With growing up in the 80s, this book was a lot of fun. I felt like I was right there with the main character, and wanted to finish the story as much as he did. Highly recommended!
I purchased it because the reviews were great. I didn't realize it was written and performed by Wil Wheaton. Seriously, I have no idea how the reviews are so good. The writing is so poor that I couldn't even stomach more than about half an hour of it. Pick anything else.
