Whoever decided that the male & female narrators should take turns doing chapters (rather than reading the male & female parts) should be fired!!!! Geez, Although I loved the male narrator (who also did the Myst character well) the female narrator did an awful job at narration. I wanted to set my iPod on SLOW so that I could catch all she was saying she talked so fast. And she definitely did not have the voice to pull off the role of Nickoli. After I listened to the book the first time... I just played it again - skipping the chapters she read. Much more enjoyable.
I've read all the books in Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series, and they are my absolute favorite paranomral romance books. I'm also a huge fan of audio books, and can't wait until the entire series is available. The narrators of this book (actually a novella prequel to the series) could have been better, but weren't horrible. It was definitely worth purchasing and listening to. The next two books in the series are full-length and have a great narrator, so be sure to check them out.
Loved this one, this author makes me laugh, fell in love with the hero, he wasn't off at all, the narraitors were right on having both the female and the male voices. This author really knows how to tell a story and hold your attention with the sexy steamy scenes being perfect no stupid. I want more!
This is a reread in audiobook format since it was on sale. It was very interesting having both a male and a female reader. Also since this series tend to be a LOT on the erotic side, I think I might prefer to actually read it. I usually listen to it outloud when I can and it could be awkard when somebody who understands English walks by... LOL
This immortal series has a long running arch that hasn't been quite clear yet or I can't remember them well. I really do need to sit down and read the whole thing and make a timeline!
I loved this book!!!!!! Its a top Fav. of Kresley Cole. I hope she does more of her books this way. The story, people, and plot are GREAT. look forward to future Audiobooks.
Sexy, great plots, this series is not for the fainted heart HOT romance. Kresley Cole is amazing, witty and clever in her writing. She is one of my favorite???s authors. She goes beyond any of my expectations, I try to imagine where the story is going but she is too clever. This is the first installment of the Immortal after Dark series originally included in an romantic anthology. Get ready for the awesome ???Lore world??? created by Kresley Cole and enjoy the ride, I know I am.
I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
I don't usually bother with novellas but after reading the first novel of this series, I was compelled to read Myst and Wroth's story as well. Enjoyable short read and although the climax was a cliche, I still loved it.
Can't wait to read more of this series!
This one seems unnecessary and really doesn't do the series justice. I could have skipped this one and never known the difference. I'm so glad the remaining books have a different narrator.
Yes to read but not to listen.
If the two performers where able to do the book on their own then I believe it would of been wonderful. Unfortunately they took turns reading making it feel like a new book or new characters were being introduced every time they switched. Simone did an awesome Myst but when it came to Nikolai she fell short. Hagan did an awesome Nikolai but when it came to Myst he fell short. If one or the other performer had the book all to themselves then I believe it would of been much better then it turned out to be.
Say something about yourself!
No. Although it had a good enough story line to keep me listening and good romance scenes, I was not looking for it to continue.
I don't know, maybe a deeper developmental of the characters. I wasn't in love with any of them.
Narration was fine. A little distracting changing from one reader to another, but I get why it was done that way.
this book has potential and I may listen to another of the series to see if the author gets better as the story line progresses.
