The book is great & now I understand Earl. A must read before going to listen to the next in the series. As always a great narration.
Plot is good, PoVs from various characters is good. The book needs better editing/correcting. The language, while in some places good, in others is repetitive, to the point of actually using the same words in neighboring sentences. The Russian words were almost all wrong (especially the curses). A bit of better research would have helped.
Oliver Wyman is a good reader/actor, the only thing he does irritatingly bad is reading the chapter numbers - there he sounds as though he were retching or something.
Yes, probably. Although it would probably be drek.
Better editing and research. Seriously.Other than that - great ideas, both plot-wise and ideologically.
I really didn't think I would like this story being just about Harbinger, being that I just read the first two books with Owen being the center of the books. It took me about 1 hour in and I was hooked. I polished it off in about 5 days. Not only was it bloody and fantastic but there were parts that made me laugh out loud.
Don't be turned off about the story not centered around Owen, you will love it. I don't want to give anything away but... You will never looked at a wood chipper in the same way again!
Fantastic narration, great story, an awesome sequel in the Monster Hunter International series. My favorite so far...
This story is only about earl
But like many other reviews say, it's still a very good story
One of the character voices sounds just like Christopher Walken
I don't normally read blurbs before I buy from authors I already know and love, so I was initially bummed that Z wasn't the protagonist for Alpha. Luke tried out some new-for-him writing techniques and they mostly worked, but he didn't follow the single protagonist first person style of the first two books. By the end of the book, I was glad to know Harbinger and the other POV characters much better. I'm looking forward to books from Heather's POV now... Luke has a gift for raising the stakes uncomfortably and delivering on his promises in an unexpected way.
Loved this chapter of MHI series but was strange choice for the narrator to give Nikoli the voice of Christopher Walken. It took me out of the story every time he voiced that character.
Started accidently with Nemesis - it was EXCELLENT, so I went back and started from the beginning. These books move fast, keep my interest, make me laugh out loud, grimace, hold me on the edge of my proverbial seat, and generally entertain.
High brow reading? No. Good fun, sit in your driveway to finish listening to a chapter, YES.
I have only 2 left in the series and they have all been well worth my time and money - I will be sorry to finish the last one.
Narrator does an excellent job - distinct characters, good speed and diction, captures the mood perfectly. Well done!!
Hell yeah I would. This is my favorite series for this genre, so much to like
The monsters in this book are pretty cool
All of it, he really brought things to life for me
the redemption of one of the characters
