The story of Earl Harbinger and the uncobering of Special Task Force Unicorn. The revealing of the war that is to come. Monster Hunter Alpha shows the changes to a main character and the discovery of another. We also meet Owen Zastava Pitt's near murder, Jason Lacoco. A story worthy of inclusion in the Monster Hunter series.
My favorite of the series, this iteration is a bit of a departure from the others and follows one of my favorite characters from the series, Earl, as he goes to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to deal with werewolf issues. Earl is a chain-smoking, straight talking, badass werewolf and the leader of Monster Hunter International.
You get some background on Earl sprinkled in with lots of Earl-isms all throughout the story. Once Earl gets fired up and puts the smack down on some pompous ass of a monster or miscellaneous MCB agent, I get a smile on my face and just enjoy the ride. The story is good, but it really takes a back seat to just hearing Earl be Earl.
I almost never re-listen to audiobooks, but I am now half way through my second round and was inspired to tell everyone what a great listen this one is. Do yourself a favor and try this series if only to get to this book.
I just don't personally think harbinger deserved his own fill length audio book. The main story is so much better and I wish it was only maybe 6 hours of Earl. The only reason I stuck with this book was because I had already dedicated to the series.
I'm a big fan of si-fi, but I'm finding that a love for mysteries budding up in me. I also like a lot of nonfiction.
This story is of an adventure from Harborger's view. It lets us know that not all the stories are about Pitt.
the story was excellent. I didn't give 5 stars only because I don't like being left in suspense. I am glad that there are some more books in this series otherwise I would be upset. It was just that good. Now I'm hoping that the story line pick up in the next book because I'm surely going to buy it immediately.
