This story was good...... Very different setting than the usual person of who overcomes turmoil in life. It also show's examples of unconditional love and when you are trully connected with a person and they're for you, you will always crave them and feel incomplete without the. I feel like Shai could've did more to save his love and she was a bit weak and an airhead but it was still a very good story. I loved the narrator too. I think this is a big part in audio books.
Say something about yourself!
Firs t time reading a book by these authors and it was a great experience Love It
I am hooked to Ashley and her husbands books. I think I'm up to about 10 now and they never let me down. Non stop action, great deep stories and the flow is amazing! They keep coming strong!!!
Non stop action
I loved Ashai. I loved that he loved Liberty fiercely from childhood and stopped at nothing to protect her. Boarding Murderville was his one mistake which both paid dearly for but he righted this wrong even though he put everyone he loved in jeopardy.
I love his voice. His inflections and dialect. He is a perfect choice to read this series.
One thing irritated me and that was why didn't these goons put their money in a bank!!?? Other than that the book was an emotional roller coaster. My tears came in the last 10 minutes and would have flowed longer had the Epilogue not been so shocking and violent.
I don't usually do trilogies but I'm excited to move onto Murderville #2 and then #3.
What a horrible book - I barely made it through the opening. Totally unnecessary language, although considering the story line I should have known better.
I am an urban fiction addict!! Wahida Clark books are my fave! I love the Thug Series. I am an avid reader and Audible makes it even better!
Most definitely the narrator. He is really good. His distinction between the characters coupled with the sound effects made this a great listen! I couldnt stop!
The best part for me was Murderville. It was like nothing Ive read before. Although A&J have sold another character in another book to the slave trade (dont want to spoil it), the depth Liberty goes into it is crazy. That couldve been the book on its own. I wish the whole book was about Murderville.
He gave the characters life. The accents, the anger, the love, everything!!! You could feel them. He is great!
This book was good. Couldve been great, but it took a turn in the middle. I cant call it a wrong turn bc i still enjoyed it, but it became the trademark A&J situations. I think these characters couldve gone down a different path than most urban fiction characters, but you have to create a path for part 2 i guess. Im about to go use my credit for part 2, so I liked it....but MAN...it couldve been great!!!
I would not try another Ashley and JaQuavis book. I would not avoid a book narrated by Cary Hite.
All of the erotic scenes. There is something unsettling about transitioning from child slavery and rape to explicitly described romantic sex.
This book is laughably bad. It only makes sense if you imagine that it was written by a teenager trying to get a message out about human trafficking. They know it's bad so they tell you all the horrible things that happen to these characters. However, they still think drug kingpins and high end prostitution are cool so these things are glamorized even though the story acknowledges their ties to human trafficking.
