This book surprised me. It was very well-written and the female protagonist kicked butt. Male characters were not cartoonish versions of masculinity. Instead, they showed vulnerability with strength, acceptance with viciousness. I thought it was fast-paced enough that it entertained me from start to finish. I loved how the main characters bonded by talking about their love of natural or fresh food. I also liked how there was a good balance of women and men where neither was portrayed as stronger or more useful than the other one. I must read the next one, I want to know where the mystery woman comes from!
Really love this series of books. Very enjoyable. The only thing is the guys would be so much more hunkier if they didn't all have the british accents. Narrator is very good overall. The books keeps you entertained. Looking forward to the 4th book coming soon.
Seth.....the way he says sweetheart.
Does a good job narrating and doing the voices. You can easily tell one from another.
I got this on a whim fearing that it would be at best a poor attempt at the trending super natural thing. But, I was grabbed right away and couldn't put it down. I totally enjoyed it. The characters are interesting and well developed. And, it's a great story that continues in the other books. I have since read the three that are currently out and await the next.
Yes I would certainly recommend this book lots of action and romance without smut
I like the changes in voice and expression
Yes wanted to finish it but couldnt very good
If you enjoy paranormal romance, you'll enjoy this book. The story wasn't anything that stood out, but I was entertained.
There were gaps and thoughts were not always carried through, however it grew on me. In the beginning there was too much of two characters, the two having frequent sex with no plot to draw you in. Other books have more plot to go with the romance and sex. If you stick with it, other characters and a plot develops. I guess there is or will be another book because a girl is brought into many scenes, she is eluded to being special, in the end a paper is passed around with every one gasping over intelligence about her. That is a cheap trick to get people to buy the next book.
I have listen to many books with vampires and supernatural. This one is weak.
The last half of the book is entertaining. Other books are more put together like Jeaniene Frost, Jim Butcher and Deborah Harkness.
The narrator's performance was done well.
I bought it on sale for 4.95 it was worth it. It could use more detail in the battle scenes and humorous self talk. Banter between characters is never over done.
I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)
I've listened to this book multiple times (I loved it so much I had to listen more than once). The characters are believable (assuming you can believe in the supernatural) the romance is sweet and sucks you in and the action keeps things interesting. I've listened to many books and this is one of my all time favorites. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great action/romance. This book gets 2 thumbs up from me!
The male character in this story is a bit too emotional with some significant baggage from his past. His is sensitive about how his lady views him and is scared that she will fear him so she needs to keep reassuring him (I mean really not my thing). The story line is quick to start and then slows down a bit too much, of course it picks up by the end of the book.
I read this as an ebook and liked it...kinda'. I planned to read the next in the series when it was released because I was interested in the secondary characters--not the overall arc. When it did release, I wasn't motivated to purchase it anymore.
I got this audio book on sale for $4.95. At that price I thought I would give it another try. I just couldn't finish it. Once again, the H/h didn't hold my attention when other characters were introduced. I wish I could trust the author enough to take a chance on the next book, but I can't. It's really too bad, because once again I want to know more about the other characters.
While pandering to Creationists, Ms Duvall writes a pale imitation of Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark Hunter Series.
