I have listened to many books and this series is my favorite by far...I can't wait till the next one!
It's not that I mind when stories start off a bit slow, as the author gives details and insights in the setting, characters, environment, etc. - but this story starts immediately. I loved it! You're only 2 or 3 minutes into the book and the action has already started. You get to know the characters through their actions, instead of prolonged thoughtful monologes (again, not that I mind those). You jump in with both feet from the get go and the story stays fast paced, interesting and extremely well read. I'm really excited to have come across what I believe is going to be a fantastic new series.
Good characters and storyline. If you're into vampires, but like a different angle this is it.
Roland's great accent!
I found this book to be a great listen, well performed, with a well written story line. I enjoyed this very much and am waiting for the next in this series. If you like Nallini Singh's series, you will like this one as well.
Yes, this book is well written, and very hard to put down. I didn't want the story to stop, when I realized that this was the First Book of the series and there wasn't another one to follow at the moment, It saddened me.
I can't just pick one of the characters, because I really thought they all were good. They finsihed each other, lets just say that.
Yes, Her story reading was very well rounded with all characters, and I liked the way she could separate each of them so well, very believable.
I laughed a few times, but didn't cry. Some of the storylines, were just really funny.
When will Book 2 of this series be released? I can't wait.
I bought this book because of "L"'s review, she knows her stuff. this was a great read, great narration too. Can't wait for more from Dianne Duvall.
I read this as an ebook and liked it...kinda'. I planned to read the next in the series when it was released because I was interested in the secondary characters--not the overall arc. When it did release, I wasn't motivated to purchase it anymore.
I got this audio book on sale for $4.95. At that price I thought I would give it another try. I just couldn't finish it. Once again, the H/h didn't hold my attention when other characters were introduced. I wish I could trust the author enough to take a chance on the next book, but I can't. It's really too bad, because once again I want to know more about the other characters.
Give me water to swim and surf in. That with a glass of white wine and the sun. That's heaven.
Dianne Duvall wrote a book unlike any I have ever listened to before. When you start litening you think its probably along the typical vampire story line. What happens next is quickly expanded by Sarah who while putting in her organic veggie garden, took on the rescue of a man being steaked to the gound from the vampires. Who goes to a rescue with a shovel? Kirsten Potter is a supreme narrator and her voice gives the characters flesh and bone. The outstanding job she does brings the story to fullness and wraps the characters around you. I am so looking forward to the next installment and pray there will be many more. I started listening and didn't want to pull away from the book, trying to listen to the whole in one sitteing. The mixture of humor, suspense and romance was perfect. I give this two thumbs up.
I really liked the way the way Roman, Sarah, Bastian, Seth and the rest of the cast of characters were all brought to lilfe. From the humor of the sexual tension to the suspense of not knowing when the villin would show up Kristen Potter did a wonderful job.
The way she put the voice inflections into each character creating major players at the start.
NEVER STOP DREAMING! !
I wasn't sure about this new series, but now I can say, I like IT! I will be reading the entire series. I would recommend this series.
