Married, middle-age, owner of 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a messy house.
I have listened to this story several times. I always enjoy it, and it is complex enough to keep me engaged even though I remember how it ends. The beginnings of other stories are in this story, but not in such a way to be cliffhangers. It just provides continuity, and helps hold the series together.
I really enjoy the storyline and all of the characters. The narrator does an excellent job, portraying surprise, snark, worry, and passion all with equal ability. Especially the snark. LOL
The most interesting part of the story is the supernatural realm that the author invites us into. It is filled with all sorts of magical/supernatural beings, and because of this, the reader is able to dive into the world of the elder races and become a part of it. Unfortunately, the story of Pia and Dragos lacked depth. Everything in their relationship moved so fast, it was difficult to see how their relationship/feelings developed. I felt that they spent lots of time apart throughout the whole story, yet still managed to form a "strong bond."
Sophie did a great job with the performance, the characters' voices were all distinguishable.
Over all, the performance was great, the characters on their own were very interesting and strong, however pieced together the protagonist ( Pia and Dragos) did not mesh well.
I didn't like the narrator much. At certain times and in the same sentence her voice went from normal to sounding as if she had a sinus infection.
I love this from the start of them Elder Races series. Dragos' and Pia's romance is truly wonderful. They are so perfect for each other. Thea Harrison's continued this series on the different individuals in the Elder races and I have enjoyed all of them. Sophie Eastlake gave all the individual characters their own distinct voices and I love all of rhem. I am looking forward to hear more on Pia and Dragos and also more stories on their son, Liam.
Yes. I listen to and read a lot of paranormal romance. This book is great! Not the biggest fan of how the sex scenes are done (the words used are a little too descriptive. i don't want to feel like I'm in the drs office wile listening. but its a personal preference)
new take on the shifter world
I just like her performance. She really drew me in to the story.
This book is a PNR Romance lover's dream! It has the most dominant alpha of the bunch and a great female love interest. The story is written very well, with lots of groundwork for future books. I Love, Love, Love Dragos! Did I say how much I loved Dragos? Oh and Pia too!!!
This series can only get better!
