if you love sci fi and you love romance....this is a great pick. enjoyed every minute of it :-)
It took me a few minutes to get into this book, but once I did, I could not put it down. Full of humour and narrator did story justice. A fantastic start to a great new series I hope.
This was a great story! The background of the characters and world is great. The character development and ground work for any continuing stories was well done. It's hard not to fall in love with the characters and root for them. Though Pia, the main female character, has her emotional girly moments, they are very understandable and it's easy to relate to them with the chaos of her life during the course of the book.
I really enjoyed the story, but have to say that I wish the narrator had a bit more smoother of a reading style. It's a little bit of a distraction from the story. This shouldn't be a deterrent from buying the book though as it's a great story!
I am a glutton for romance novels but decided to use my credits towards a genre I usually am not found of, mythical romance. It was worth it. The book is well written and the reading was fantastic. The voices are just as I would have pictured. Besides, I can't resist a sarcastic leading female.
Thank you James for getting me this book! Your devoted girlfriend, Shay!!
This book drew me in and kept me in suspense! I love strong-willed yet vulnarable Pia and the intimidating yet lonely alpha male Dragos. (He reminds me of Curran from Ilona Andrews Novels.) LOVE the book and can't wait to read more...
I just finished this book and am dying to get the next one. I've never read/listened to any shape-shifter books, but I really enjoyed this. The narrator is phenomenal as well. I would definitely recommend this book as a great read/listen. I couldn't tear myself away from it.
Great narration. I really likes that the Pia and Dragos stayed in character. I agree with the reveiw of soooo glad Pia was a female with heart and bravery with a little spunk tossed in, and that Dragos was learning to be in love without automatically turning into a jellyfish just because a woman came into the picture. He never lost his high handed edge and "dragoness" and she didnt let him brow beat her. They stayed who they were and learned to give and take without losing who they were. Hope to see a lot more of this series and from this writer and narrator.
I did not read the print version. This audio book was sexy, funny, action packed and overall very entertaining. Sophie Eastlake did a great job narrating. She has great timing and delivery.
I love Pia. She is witty, smart, funny, tough but very sweet. She is just totally likable. Dragos grows on you as his character develops. Not only is he extremely sexy and masculine, he can be very kind and caring and is willing to learn to love and understand Pia. Since he is an ancient dragon, it's a big step.
I loved all the big scenes between Pia and Dragos, but one that stands out is when Pia walks out of her jail cell in the goblin stronghold (locks cannot hold her) and walks into the cell where Dragos is chained down. He is just so relieved to see that she is ok. Here is this extremely powerful, strong, prone-to-violence man who admits he does not even know what the word "love" means, but when he sees that Pia is still alive after being beaten and taken away, his relief fills him and all he wants is to be close to her and feel her next to him. Their strong connection to each other is electrifying.
I would not say that I had any extreme reactions, but truly I did chuckle at the funny internal dialogues going on in Pia's head, and I was close to tears when Dragos finally understands what love is all about and tells Pia how he feels about her.
I've listened to the first 3 books in this series, and although I enjoyed numbers 2 and 3, Dragon Bound is my favorite.
Paranormal Romances are my favorite.
Storm Born. The writing is similar and deals with the fae and other magical creatures.
Dragos. He just emanates power..although I didn't care for the way he sounded. A little too nasally. But I did like Pia.
