This book is amazing. It's so good, I'm going to listen to it again and again. It's rich and filled with multiple ways to think about the resistance and how to approach your craft, your work. This book is a must listen/read for all entrepreneurs and anyone who does any type of creative or knowledge work.
I never write reviews but this book deserves it. This is truly the greatest book I have ever read! The layout, the philosophy, the humor are mashed together beautifully.
I was suprivce it ended just like that, felt so fast. and every word was, and its to the Point, practical, and educational.thank tou for helping me defeat my resistance. I don't write reviews but even this was easy to do. thanks again
Resistance is the enemy!!
One must learn to embrace their self...get to know who you are, not who or what is not realistic for you!
Excellent read and positive narration! Worth it!!
Unaccustomed to giving five stars in surveys, I do for this book, for that very reason. Gotta have a ruler, gotta have an example high mark on the bar. As a psychologist (20+ years) I am incorporating much of Pressmen "s philosophy regarding How to Live Life (and how to be a professional writer--I appreciate the new definition of that word!!) into my clinical practice. I'll also be recommending it to every person I know who I do not find abominable. Thanks so much!
Well, the core idea is its hard and the later chapters are not that strong. But the idea is put forward in such a compelling way that as an artist it really helps to put things in perspective.
Mr. Guidall does an amazing job at bringing this philosophy to life through his clear and perfectly animated narration. Pressfield's insight into the mind and habits of artists, entrepreneurs, and writers is especially unique and can be quickly applied.
Mr. Pressfield's stories about his own experiences were especially fun and easy to listen to.
Guidall's animation was well fit to these stories, and well paced.
While the teachings in this book are beautifully written, and perfect for the experienced creative, Pressfield's 'Do The Work' is better organized for someone who wants to start a new creative endeavor.
A reality check that i did not expect. very direct. a book that has the effect to break you down, look at yourself and it then builds you back up in a firm way. makes you a better person
Delivery of inspired message.
Pressfield gives thin bio, listened once, remember resistance. Bagger Vance. Ugh.
Pressfield? Have to listen again.
Charlie Rose could interview him.
