Overall a great message on overcoming creative resistance, and the overall creative process. the author gets into some religious and metaphysical side tracks that, in my opinion, detract from the message. but still a very helpful look at how to get things done.
narration was great, easy to listen to. note that the narrator in the sample isn't the same as the narrator of the book.
Liked the book. Got a few good ideas from it. I will be thinking about and praying to the Muse more. I will offer my creations back to their Source when I am finished with them.
But other than this - - and I know this was the whole point of the title and tone of the book - - I really didn't like how Abrasive, sardonic, and tormented, how warlike the whole tone was. I totally understand that some creators will like and even need this impetus. But it just wasn't for me.
this book and it's messages apply to all walks of life, not just those in creative roles. really insightful to help understand the RESISTANCE that holds us back from those big projects (big in size or creativity or other capacity) and how to breakthrough that resistance.
I paused this recording about a third way through so that I could immediately do the work I've been putting off! Finished it up the book today and found myself nodding my head and saying "yes" out loud. This was exactly what I needed. Thanks to Rhett and Link for the book recommendation and to Pressfield for writing it!
Lovely, supportive & smart. Gets right to the point. It's time to do what our soul is begging us to do.
I will write a review. Past the clutch of thought where I considered closing this option to share a review, I will do the work. Make that effort. I will write my review: This book is great.
