Love to read and get lost in my books! I started listening to audio books about a year ago (as I work-out) and love it- keeps me exercising. I then usually buy the good ones and read them all over again.
Intriguing! Sensual! New!
Talented narrator- brought the characters to life
Every instance where Jacob shows his vulnerability- very moving!
Jacquelyn Frank is one of the best Paranormal romance authors out there (Gena Showalter the other) When you start one of their series you MUST have them all. You escape reality and are IN their worlds! Thank YOU! Addicting.
Wasn't sure I was going to like this but it was pretty good. I would have given the story 4 stars if it wasn't so Harlequin-esque. It also ended a bit abruptly which kind of bummed me out.
The story was great! Jacquelyn Franks is an excellent writer. This was the first book by her that I had ever read/listened to. It really draws you in, and you quickly begin to love the characters.
She does a great job with the accents and the different characters voices. She is one of the best narrators I have ever had the pleasure of hearing!
I have 3 kids that occupy all the TV's in the house...enough said...addicted to audiobook ....shhhh don't tell my husband ;-)
Xe Sands did an amazing job with all the different voices, very impressed by her story telling.
Isabella with her being thrushed into a new world and discovering that she is quite powerful.
the is my first time listening to her and she is amazing!
Jacob giving into Isbella
This has become my new favorite series...never want it to end!
Fell in Love
The mystery of it all. There unexpected twists and turns. The love scenes are intense and full of passion. The find the mate he imprinted on and love her for life. Every marriage should be that way! I listened to the book 2 times. Cant wait to get the next one in the series.
No have not. Accents are great.
Too many to say. I loved the whole book.
I would absolutely recommended this audiobook to anyone. First because the story is solid. It has been my experience that the first book in a series is a little slow in developing a plot line, not so with Jacob. It's fast paced and quickly weaves a complex plot line. Second because Xe Sands does an awesome job narrating.
I loved that the main character Jacob had a "painful" moral struggle between what he thinks he knows to be true and what he feels in his heart. It really makes the story so much more personal.
Xe Sands is by far the best narrator I have heard to date. Her performance is magical.
Ok, so I know it's a very strange thing indeed to have the leads in this storyline be blessed with the names of Jacob and Isabella. I'm sure, after the thousand and twenty combinations of Twilight characters put together for very poorly written books that you've downloaded from Kindle you are running screaming from this title thinking that this is yet another of those nightmares! Wait! Don't go! It's not another one of those...I promise! Ms. Frank has created a stunning new world for us to play in with rich characters to get to know. Call them Marge and Bob if you have to in your mind to get past your fears!
The Nightwalkers live right along side of we of the human race. Their world is mostly confined to the darkness of night. After getting to know this "world", I'd gladly give up daylight, electricity and a whole lot more if I were lucky enough to "fall" into their world the way Isabella did!
I'm going backwards with my reviews so I'm actually posting this one after reviewing the first book of her Shadowdweller series. As I mentioned in that review, Isabella is a bit annoying to me but the story is excellent and the series is outstanding becoming better and better with every book!
I am married with a teenage son and run my own business. As I am visually impaired, audio books are my life.
I usually can handle the mushy books even though I'm not a fan of them however this one was pure vomit. The storyline was rubbish. I got to chapter 5 before I couldn't take it anymore. Seriously the main characters Jacob and Bella.
Yes, I would tell my friends and my sister about this book. I love the way the demons are just like a normal family ( what ever normal is) and not the kill you on sight like in other books
I love the way she does all the different voices and gives them there very own self
September 18 Lol
This is the first and my favorite book by Jacquelyn Frank. It's the first introduction to the Nightwalkers and I fell just a little bit in love with Jacob. He is the wonderful and stoic soldier that is protecting his people with the job he has: Enforcer. Because of a simple shove from Fate he meets Isabella and together they make one dynamic pairing.
I love how they interact in the story and the arguments that always seem to happen between them.
Jacob's book also introduces us to the rest of the Nightwalkers and their world and soon I found that I didn't want to leave. The story happening around them, sucks you in so much that when the book ended I went back and bought the rest of the books in the series without a second thought.
Never have a read a series so unique and different and spellbinding. Jacquelyn Frank has become one of my favorite and go to writers now.
