For all of you reviewers out there, I want you to know how important you are to me. Reviews are very powerful. Thought you should know.
...and yet, you won't want it to end, either. This book, like most Gregg Hurwitz' books, grabs you by the throat, raises the hairs on the back of your neck, and you'll love every second of it. The plot is original, characters fascinating and multifaceted, and the action constant.
If you're a fan, as I am, of thrillers and suspense, Gregg Hurwitz will spoil you for just about every other author of this genre. The Survivor, The Crime Writer, and They're Watching are also top-notch thrillers by this author, and I highly recommend all of them.
Yes, it is so well narrated and a great story and characters.
Shep and the narrator and the plot.
He brings life to all the characters and is so good.
The whole book was riveting.
I am an avid reader and am now addicted to audio books as well!
Scott Brick's performance was exquisite! I don't think there is another narrator out there that could have captured "Shep" the way he did. He caputured his personality and voice perfectly. He also captured his sense of humor and literally made me laugh out loud several times.
This book was exciting from the front cover to the last page. I had a very hard time pressing the pause button on this book!!
This one sure got me. I'm usually pretty good at figuring mysteries out,or at least coming close. I had no clue on this one. It would make a good movie!
This story has plenty of twists and turns. The characters are pretty believable despite some of the extreme situations they are put in. You cannot help but root for the main character(s), and the suspense will make you want to see the story through to the end.
While I am usually a sci-fi person, this was a great read!
You can't help but pull for Mike. From his past to the present, he is the underdog I love.
Yes. His soothing voice makes up for his inability to inflect or add much variety in with the different characters. The book was almost a perfect assignment for him.
YES...stayed up for 6 hours straight to finish it, and paid for it the next day. Well worth it.
This book kept me wanting more. A great story read by a great narrator. Scott Brick never disappoints.
Shep was my favorite character.
This is a truly captivating story and fabulous narration! My Audible library is pretty extensive but this author/narrator combo is at the top!
Why am I just hearing about Gregg Hurwitz? He's awesome - there's never a dull moment and the story is excellently written. 5 stars!
This is definitely worth reading/listening too. I could not turn it off, highly recommend it. It does have some gruesome creepy scenes..but they do add something to the story line.
I probably will listen to this book again, I was in such a rush to find out what happens next that I'm sure I missed some things.
I really liked when they finally got the safe open. I also liked when they pulled off the casinoheist and many others. it is such a good book and it really got my emotions stirred up. There were also some times when I just smiled.
Definetly Shep He just had a simple way about him that made you love him.
I couldn't wait to get back to the book every time i put in down.
Scott Brick is my absolute favorite male narrator and he did not dissapoint. He kept me on the edge of my seat the whole book.
