I most enjoyed that the world Peter Clines has created seems like a real world with superheroes instead of a comic book world. The dangers of the main characters are exciting and it keeps you on the edge of your headphones to see how it all plays out.
Peter Clines does an excellent job with his transitions between the current timeline and the flashbacks to not only accentuate the drama but it helps with revealing surprises in a very timely manner.
The Mighty Dragon, Stealth, and Sergeant Freedom were my favorite characters.
The end of the world was just the beginning.
Character back stories
Well, the Story was better than the first as he continued with great character background info and added more excitement to the Melee's. But, well I don't liked to go into details and ruin things so all I will say is the ending is non-existant. It would be like building up to a Show's Finale and then canceling it. No ends tied up no plot ending, the book just ended. Did the Author run out of time before print? Was hit by a bus? Did he forget what he was doing? Maybe his computer accidently deleted the last 3 chapters of the book...it happens.
It has a comic-book feel, and flows really nicely. There is only detail where it needs to be, so there is no overly flowery language. Since the reading is light, it has replay value.
I really DO hope they make a film from this, it's such a unique concept done well.
If there were 10 of these books, I'd buy all of them right now. I only hope Clines continues to maintain the quality and pace of the first two books.
Who would have ever thought of putting Comicbook heroes against zombies, and it actually working? Honestly, I thought it was a dumb idea, until I saw all the reviews. I'm SO glad I gave the first book a chance. I bought the second, after listening to only 30 minutes of the first.
I loved this book. A great continuation of the first in the series. I cant wait for book 3!
Sleeplady: lover of dogs, zombies and superheroes.
How could I not love a book that combines Superheroes and Zombies?!! This book has strong characters, an interesting plot and is well written. The narrator has a pleasant voice and delivery. I very worthwhile read. **Note**This book is a sequel to Ex-Heros and I think if you haven't read/listened to that first you may not get the full effect of the book.
This was a great listen. The Narraters were enteraining and the story was really interesting. I like the comination of Super Hero's and Zombies. I am looking forward to the next in the series.
This is a very unique story, it had super heros and it had zombies, but it is unlike any Zombie or Super Hero book I have ever read. The super villan is great too.
They add great personality to the characters.
Read ExHeroes first to better understand what is going on. I enjoyed it so much I couldn't put down my iPod. I'm really looking forward to the final book. Can't wait to see what happens next.
The narrators did a great job. Love that the guy reads the guy parts and the woman reads the women parts. Nice.
It's a fun story that's interesting and has you trying to piece together everything thats happening to figure out where its leading. It really had me thinking everytime i shut off the book as to where it was leading and what clues it was giving me. It's also just plain entertaining this world of super heroes and zombies. I am definitively looking forward to his next book.
I love this series! It has a nice mesh of super hero bravodo and zombie slaying. I like that the villian from the last book was brought back, stronger and more demented.
It's hard for me to get anymore interested in zombie novels, sort of a big fan. The super hero was a nice twist.
Nothing, I think it is read well. Not too dramatic and lets you focus on the story.
Pete Cline has made a fan of me with both of his books and I am looking forward to the next installment.
Life is too short not to listen to Audible.
Entertaining, nonstop action and outside of the box story writing makes this an excellent listen. I completed the first book and could not wait to start the next one. I was a little worried that the second book would be a watered down version of the first, but wonderfully this was not the case. I could not stop listening to it and lost some sleep due to wanting to hear just a little bit more. I would recommend this book as it is well written and makes many unique and entertaining twists to what is often expected from other such books in the genera.
