Savage's personal story resonated with my own life story. He is a very funny and serious storyteller.
His interactions with his son.
Laughter, tears, empathy, sympathy, deep thoughts.
So many great moments - stories well told.
Overly affected reading
This is a tribute to love. As I see it anyone could benefit from listening to a successful person in relationship speaking from the heart and being humorous along the way.
the authentic way of writing that Dan does so well
I far prefer hearing Dan Savage in his own voice. I recognized pieces of this book from This American Life pieces, and I just really prefer the author's voice to the narrator. But the book was entertaining, funny, and heartwarming. Great story of a family and a realtionship.
Favorite of mine.
Pretty much any of Dan's other books. His signature wit and sense of humor are all over this one.
No I have not, but I liked this performance a lot. It would have been nice to have heard Dan read it, but this performance was very well done.
A lot of laughs. I don't know how many times I actually laughed out loud at this audiobook... Too many times to count. A lot of the stories are very touching too.
I'm an illustrator/concept artist currently living about an hour away from town via public transport. During these times, audiobooks, radioplays and podcasts are my best friends.
Being a regular listener to Savage Love, it was unusual to hear Dan's words spoken by someone else but I grew accustomed to it quickly. It was very nice to know Dan and his family better; where some of his famous ideas and values come from. It is as consistently entertaining as his work on SLOG and the podcast.
I regret absolutely nothing from purchasing this audiobook... except for maybe the fact that I now have a strong craving for cake. Thanks Dan.
