Five books later and the story did not end. There were too many characters in this story. Many of them had similar names. The story went off in all different directions and there was no attempt to bring the story anywhere near a climax. Maybe this is not a good story for audio, although the performance was very good. It was because of him that I continued to listen. If that is how the author ends things and he hasn't written anything else, then this was the biggest waste of my time EVER!
I love these books, and despite what other reviewers have said, I find this to be the least annoying of Roy Dotrice's narrations for the Song of Ice and Fire series.
I really enjoyed this book much like the others. Obviously if you read the first 4 you are gonna read this one. I got used to the changes made in the 4th reading so this one was quicker.
A different narrator -
I like the book, bought audio to listen as well as read hard copy - I fell asleep during the narration, awful character voices.
love this author! love the plot, love the writing, love the pace, love the history, love the characters, love the action, love the love-story lol, and love love the narrator! can't wait for the next book!!!
In by far the most complex and intriguing book of the series, Roy Dotrice continues to be outstanding at character, tone, and flourish. Long may be reign. George RR Martin starts to bring to fruit all that he's masterfully crafted.
I enjoyed the content of the story itself but at times Roy Dotrice took an extended pause which made me think it was a new chapter but it wasn't. The range of character voices seemed a little limited compared to previous books as well.
