there were no characters by the time I quit listening
It wasn't clear what this book really was when I bought it. I guess I was looking for a larger roof, a broader concept and it is really small, though accurate. I can hardly see how so little got to be so much.
Yes, it was very entertaining, and wonderful look into where the world of marketing is going.
It is timely and believable perspective on the future of the economy.
Great to have his additional off-the-script insights, as he was able to provide more current updates on the topics.
I could, but didn't need to.
It was recommended to me to read this book. I was finishing up my Masters Degree and time was limited. I cam to audible.com to see if this book was available, WOW and it was!!! I downloaded this and was up to date with the group discussion within a very short length of time. This book was written with up to date information. the narrator was entertaining. I learned a good bit. Mostly, this book was informative and enlightening. I have taken the information in the book and tried to be a better provider of customer service with the customer in mind. I have so tried being a better customer as well. I recommend this book because it will give you a new perspective.
Do you read the book before you dislike my reviews?
I just became an instant fan of Gary Vaynerchuk and his performance of his own book. Instead of keeping to the print version, he adds more information to the audio. It is mostly random jokes and updated stats. I've read my share of business books and they pretty much follow the same pattern. Objective, example and solution, but with "The Thank You Economy", his comic candor, make this one to be entertaining while learning how to do business with social media. It's good information to know in order to survive your business.
imho - ymmv
Thought-provoking and inspiring vision of a return to humanising business, and looks beyond the trite superficiality of all this social media stuff. "Wall!! What are you good for?"
Highly recommend the audiobook version over print: it is read by Gary V himself. We already know he is a great speaker, but the frequent off-script moments are priceless.
Love to learn. Learn to live. Live to love.
The Thank You Economy is up there with books that are both interesting to listen to while still being very informative.
It's really more a series of anecdotes of "how to rock social media" rather than any 'characters' playing a part.
His voice is direct and engaging. It sounds like we're sitting around the fire talking.
Why social media has dramatically altered how we communicate with friends, family and our customers.
The book itself is great with common-sense, do-able advice for utilizing social media to engage customers and build lasting relationships with them. However, with Gary's enthusiasm, passion and "off script" additions I highly recommend the audio version!
This is a book about Gary read by Gary. You can never get tired of listening to him, he is funny, clever and gets to the point. His narration style is very original, goes off script, throws in a funny joke and gets right into business.
This book is a lot about his personal experience and focuses a lot on how he built his business through social media and gives you some tips and strategies on how to engage customers and built community and loyalty.
I would hear this book more than twice!
Gary makes the book easy to absorb with the effort he puts into tonality and the little blurbs that "go off script".
It's up front and real info-- the usual Gary stuff.
I've only heard/watched him give talks online, but I knew he'd be good at narrating his own book.
Social media is not social media. It's a culture... a way of life.
I will listen to this book again, and be willing to buy other audio books from him. he delivers what I wish every book narrator would---- EMOTION and INFLECTION.
Married to an awesome woman and have one super daughter. I am a computer geek who loves anything to do with computer security. I am also a drummer for a Christian Contemporary Group.
Superb information all throughout the book. Gary keeps you engaged!
Shows you how to be
Yes....and this is just as good as Crush It!
Gary is so motivational and moves you to excel!
