I like the idea that social media marketing should be approached differently from traditional media. Now I just wish the public was stepping up and holding companies to account. Until consumers step out of their comfortable patterns, the thank you economy will only be one strategy among many in the business world rather than a dominant force.
Bottom line. This book is awesome! It should be required text for anyone who is even thinking about running a business. If you are a manager, an executive, or even a newbie you need to read this book. The concepts covered and the examples given will led you to countless "ah ha" moments. Also, the book is read by the very charismatic author GaryVee who gets so passionate about the message he "goes off script" several times during the performance to add in extra nuggets of information that are not found in the original text. It's one of the best business books you will ever listen to guaranteed.
Gary is very good to listen to and certainly not a speaker you get bored of however this book seems to be essentially a repeat on the mantra of his first book "Crush It"
"Crush It" is a better book and more inspirational.
Buy and read "Crush It" and leave this book on the shelf.
Gary is as weird as I am and he kept me interested the whole time.
Bringing up this book in my interview help land me the second interview.
The book had good information on how to approach marketing on the internet. The one issue is that the book will be out of date in a few short years. The author even admits to it. Gary Vaynerchuk goes off script a few time but only to give an update to in the subject matter and a little added humor. Even if you are picking it up for the first time at it is a few years old, the principles and ideas are still important to pick up.
YES! Gary is fun to listen to and his "added" comments are captivating and insightful.
Personal comments and sideline stories make the Audible version a great choice.
Yes. Gary's narration is highly entertaining and not to be missed.
Yes, an online snip of the thank you generations workshop! They are equally awesome
As time passes the content will be stale. Listened to book flying back and forth from NYC and Gary kept me entertained and awake on some long 4 hour flights.
Thought there was some useful stuff about being innovative. Had to work hard to keep listening because he kept going off script and telling us so. It was distracting.
I would have read it as written and provided updates/new references at the end of each chapter or end of the book.
He was very loud and over the top. Nonstop
there were no characters by the time I quit listening
It wasn't clear what this book really was when I bought it. I guess I was looking for a larger roof, a broader concept and it is really small, though accurate. I can hardly see how so little got to be so much.
