I am a "Life is Awesome! Strive to be Worthy of it." student of life kind of guy. Feeding on Chaos and Empowering the Good. Group Hug!
Entertaining, Captivating and the Narrator Kept your attention glued. The whole series was fun and a great listen.
The dog Oberon.
Yes the previous two books in this series. I haven't heard a better Narrated book within my experience with Audible. Of course most of the books I like to get are educational and thus probably a little harder to read without any real characters to dramatize. But the Narrator does make or break the book for me and I have learned my lesson several times over, READ the REVIEWS on EVERY BOOK you want to buy and take heed when you see multiple people talking about their disappointments of the Narrator. I wish you could get your money back on them, some of which were so bad I couldn't make it through the first couple chapters. This book saved my continued membership with Audible at least for now. Awesome book.
The Thunder God.
I always look for a tidbit of truth within these books, because I know the truths of old are now hidden within stories like these. Although I found no real truths in this book, it was very entertaining. I am writing a book about a Druid Hero, It will be two books in one really. The first part is the story created for your entertainment, and the back of the book will be sectioned off training. As the story progresses, the druid goes off to be trained and returns, if the reader Chooses to evolve with the Druid, the reader can go to the back and read the section associated to that part of the hero's training. My book is nothing like this but it is my hopes that the story will be as amazingly entertaining as this series.
Travel a lot for work and spend a good deal of time in the car.
Best series! HBO please read this and make it. Something great for in between Trublood and Game of Thrones.

I don't want to live in a world without books!
I am so glad I took a chance on this series. I haven't laughed this much or enjoyed a book so much in a long time. Hearne has created a main character that charms his way into your consciousness and takes up residence there. I find myself quoting dialogue to people who haven't read it yet, and I hate spoilers! The weather has been nasty for weeks, but when I go into the Iron Druid books, I feel as if I've been on vacation to worlds both strange and familiar and very, very exciting as well. Hammered was the best of the three, but I give them all 5 stars for just existing. I love Atticus, Oberon, and all the other wonderful characters that live within the mind of Kevin Hearne. I look forward to many years of hero worship. Highly, very highly recommended.
Also, Luke Daniels deserves a big thank you for his amazing performance -- He IS Atticus, Oberon and the gang. I don't believe I would have loved the books as much with another reader.
YES YES YES.,.,.such a nice change for my Paranormal World of reading and listening
The mix of all the magic's and haven't read much about Druid Priest...His character and relationship with his wolf hound is really - gosh don't know the word without sounded too corny..it is a very mature book (intelligent - but fun too)
Loved them all
Not good with this...
Non, but just listen and you'll fall in love with the story too
Tell us about yourself!
As a bona fide Norwegian I was very excited to hear that the next book in a series I???ve come to enjoy would feature elements from Norse mythology. Mythology and stories I???ve hear since I was a little kid, stories I???ve come to love almost as much our old folktales of many-headed mountain trolls.
And I must admit, despite the strange American pronunciations I was suitably impressed with how Hearne melds our mythology with his universe. Maybe it???s not a huge endorsement when I say that he did in fact not butcher my cultural inheritance, but that???s honestly the impression I was left with.
Now for the book itself, I was not a huge fan. It was worth the credit, but I think the author should be thankful that this is not the first book in his series. I???ll leave it at that.
I grew up on Golden Age Radio, and while I love to read, I typically consume more books via audio thanks to a job that lets me listen while I work. As an aspiring writer, I try to read a great deal of non-fiction in addition to a variety of fictional genres. I especially love history, historical fiction, science fiction, fantasy, and old-style gothic horror.
If you've read the first two books, you know what's coming just by the title: the promised quest to end the life of Thor is at hand... but not without some stops, side trips, upheavals, and character backstory info dumps along the way. It's by no stretch the best world building I've ever seen, but it gets the job done and opens the world considerably in the process. This tale doesn't pretend to be something it's not. Instead, it just gets out of its own way so the fun can continue.
Love, love, LOVE the narration for this series. The voices are perfect, even the female voices! I sometimes forget that it is narrated by one person!
The series as a whole is entertaining and very well written. But by the third book now, it seems like the plot line is a bit flat. To me, it's the same old stuff where the hero goes to save the day, and the ending is just the precursor for the next adventure. It truly is entertaining, but somewhat predictable, so I may not purchase the next book in the series any time soon. Still though, quality writing (or in this case, narration!!), characters are fun, and there are a lot of fun, nerdy themes and concepts that I absolutely adore.
Soooo awesome! The books gets better and better! And Luke Daniels s performance gets better and better! Everything gets better and better!!! I can't stop listening to it! And I m definitely going to read/listen to the rest of the series!
