Travel a lot for work and spend a good deal of time in the car.
Best series! HBO please read this and make it. Something great for in between Trublood and Game of Thrones.
See my review for Book 1
It's so exciting to experience a writer getting better and better with each book. I thought the first book was okay however, when I got to this one I was truly entertained. The book has great comedy, holds your interest and is quite entertaining. The scene where Jesus and the druid are sitting in the cafe is one of many brilliant scenes. Luke Daniels' narration is perfect for the character. I am looking forward to Kevin Hearne continuing the adventures of The Druid.
I'm not the most articulate person, so I'm going to make this brief and to the point. The storyline is very entertaining, well thought out and researched and incredibly engaging. If you're looking for a romance novel or a bloated pretentious novel, this isn't for you. However if you're looking for a fun read, with likeable characters and a great storyline, then I highly recommend this series. I for one can't wait for the next installment.
Tell us about yourself!
As a bona fide Norwegian I was very excited to hear that the next book in a series I???ve come to enjoy would feature elements from Norse mythology. Mythology and stories I???ve hear since I was a little kid, stories I???ve come to love almost as much our old folktales of many-headed mountain trolls.
And I must admit, despite the strange American pronunciations I was suitably impressed with how Hearne melds our mythology with his universe. Maybe it???s not a huge endorsement when I say that he did in fact not butcher my cultural inheritance, but that???s honestly the impression I was left with.
Now for the book itself, I was not a huge fan. It was worth the credit, but I think the author should be thankful that this is not the first book in his series. I???ll leave it at that.
Totally! This book made me laugh out loud. I found myself rewinding to repeat certain lines that just cracked me up.
Love the dialog between Atticus and Oberon.
Luke Daniels is so good at making the story come alive. I can't imagine any other Narrator making Atticus and company come to life like Luke.
YES YES YES.,.,.such a nice change for my Paranormal World of reading and listening
The mix of all the magic's and haven't read much about Druid Priest...His character and relationship with his wolf hound is really - gosh don't know the word without sounded too corny..it is a very mature book (intelligent - but fun too)
Loved them all
Not good with this...
Non, but just listen and you'll fall in love with the story too
Second to the Dresden Files...which I love a lot.
Atticus and the Irish hound.
No...but I love his reading of the story.
It made me laugh and cry...love the books.
Great read for all those in Dresden Files withdrawals...
Nicely written third book. Had me laughing aloud at work. Slightly redundant in a couple chapters but it all flows nicely and has me excited for the next book. I'm liking this new style of fantasy writing by Hearn.
Love the whole series, Kevin Hearne does a great job of creating a detailed setting. There is a lot of humor, but not quite comedy, along with great bits of mythology from all pantheons. Most definitely read this series.
Luke Daniels is a really really great narrator, he really breathes life into these characters.
I had to listen to this book 3 times because due to distractions, I lost the story line. when I finally settled down to listen, it was a great book. I will now go back to listen to the previous 2 books and give them my attention.
I also had to get use to the narrator's glib tone.
The story's usage of current locations and events threw me for awhile. My mind had to work but it finally got with it.
Very enjoyable and want more.
