The fact that they basically destroyed a whole pantheon
I love the concept that everything exists
This is one of the most amazing series. I've enjoyed them so much that I've listened to them multiple times and have even gifted them. I love how much lore is included and how deities from all over are represented!
Okay Mr. Hearne has a fantastic writing style and coupled with Luke Daniels this blew me away. I laughed at times like someone next to me had made a joke. Where are some more from this series Mr Hearne? Also I have to say, I will listen to books now just because Mr. Daniels has narrated them. Even if they aren't what I would normally want to listen to. I think you can tell I'm sold on the author and the narrator. Wow.
I'm an instructor in the business college at a university in the Pacific Northwest. Enjoy hard scifi and books about how the brain works.
Seriously, who would NOT enjoy these books? I've listened to them twice - and I never do that with audiobooks. The one small issue I have with this story is Atticus seems to so blithely ignore being all but told "if you kill Thor, it will destroy the world." It doesn't seem to jive with how he has approached problems in the past books. But I went with it, figuring Mr. Hearne will explain it in a future book. I'm glad the author wrote a longer story this time, and can't wait for the next book - there are so many loose ends to tie up!
Downloaded all 3 in the series and didn't want it to end! Will listen to these again in a few months or when I need an escape from the ordinary.
I thought the found of a druid might be a little boring but I was wrong. It was a fun and addictive listen. All the characters are great. My favorite is the dog.
First I have to say that I am mourning the loss of characters that I liked. I won't say who, just that they'll be missed. I loved this book. Lots of action, lots of snark. I have liked each book more and more, and will for sure listen to them again. As always, Oberon rocked. Luke Daniels does a great job with narration.
This series is aimed, is suspect, at young men but there was still something in it for me. Sheer, fun escapism. LOVE the dog. The narrator is GREAT.
Yes. The narrator carries you through this story from the different characters (love love love the different voices and antics!) The writing is witty and easily sucks you into the experience. And what an experience. Know I will be listening to this series more than once!
HIs discussion with himself as Kirk and Spock was hilarious!
He breathed life into the story - from the different characters (my fav were the widow lady and the giant squirrel as well as the dog!) Just made the story live! His Kirk and Spock were hilarious! He does an awesome job.
Use of mythologies in modern times have always been fun, but Kevin Hearne made them real. Also, great respect to Kevin for putting this in first-person. The first-person stories I had previously read ranged from poor to mediocre, but this one knocked it right out of the park.
probably the line, "Leif has ghouls on speed dial. My lawyer kicks so much ass."
I love the way Oberon talks. it's just so much fun to listen to the way he goes on about Gengis Khan
Definitely. one thing leading to another, and the intricate and immature uses of Magic were so much fun to imagine.
Do what I did and grab the whole series now. From beginning to end, this series does not stop or slow down. Be careful, though: it may make you feel bad for not reading all the Shakespeare that you should have.
