Great story, full of fun and excitement. Already finished the 2nd ( Every bit at good as the first) volume and will soon buy the 3rd.
Great voice and presence to each character. Loved her in both books.
I laughed out loud alot!
The main character is terrific. She's just your average person - no super powers, not perfect. You really get where she is coming from. The whole cast is funny and interesting. I absolutely loved the culture of Jersey she captured. Many laugh out loud moments. I continued with the series and they just keep getting better.
I loved the story but the narrator was not what I would have expected. I thought that a younger voice would have been chosen for the unabridged version. The abridged version has a person by the name of Lori Petty narrate and I loved it. It made it seem more real. Other than the narrator I loved the story itself. I can't wait to finish the series. I didn't think I would like it but, I was pleasantly surprised.
Probably not - already know what happens
Most likely yes
Was uncomfortable with the frequent bad language.
The story keeps on dragging and the author tries to be funny, but never gets there.
I am not buying another book from this author
Bored and bored and bored
What a waste of time.
I would recommend this book to my friends. It has a great story line and I love the comedy thrown in. I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions.
It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next.
Favorite scene was when Stephanie put Morelli in the Freezer.
I have read all the Stephanie Plum books and have loved each one. I am in the process of going through them all again so I don't miss a thing.
Funny, challenging Wonderful
Where Stephanie was hand cuffed to shower rod
Hen Lula was beaten
Just read this book and you will be looking for the other 17 that follow
yes, because of the humor.
Been more excited and did the voices better.
It was a good entertaining story. Moved along quickly without a lot of boring detail, just enough to keep you interested.
One word: entertaining
The characters eccentricities.
I was a bit bored by CJ Critt's performance through the beginning of the novel. By the end I had grown accustomed to it. Perhaps even enjoyed it, by the end.
This is not the best book I have ever read; however, it did it's job and entertained me. I am going to continue to read this series. I have grown attached to the characters. I appreciate the entertainment value of this series. Also, cannot wait to see the movie!
Old as dirt and a picky reader
This is one of the few books that make a good repeat. It is like Home Alone. It stays funny.
Plum has to be the biggest 'successful' ditz I have ran into in fiction and life. Her cousin the bird lover is a second runner up.
I wish I could say I enjoyed Critt as much as I enjoy King's version but I don't. Critt is just not a Jersey girl. King makes her come to life and I have a hard time realizing all the characters of King are King. Critt on the other hand is always Critt. Critt doesn't have a bad reading voice but she lacks characterization. I have to really listen to hear who is talking because of the lack of characterization when a conversation is going on.
Well worth the listen even if it isn't King.
