The cast brings the book to life but most importantly the writing is plain amazing. You NEED to read this book. It is one of the weirdest, interesting, real stories I have ever read. The characters are the best and each has their own idiosyncrasies and deep back stories. It is a winding tale that ends in an amazing climax.
Shadow's experience in the darkness.
Shadow was great but Tuesday/Anansi were the best.
I most certainly wanted to!
Ugh! Literally nothing happens in this book. They even say near the end FYI this stuff didn't happen. So this is a book about nothing happening to a guy literally nothing and they try to tell you it's all a metaphor for some other BS nothing.
I'm so mad at myself for listening to this whole book. It starts off bad, and just gets worse. Childish writing, deadpan performances from actors who are probably having trouble taking the crap writing seriously.
I can't believe they're gonna make a movie about this stupid book. Save your credits for a book that has a plot, or even a series of events, or just has SOMETHING happen.
JC this was bad.
Facebook brings a lot to the table. several interesting storylines to follow and characters that truly draw you into their experiences. I highly recommend this book, But be sure to listen during times when you can focus on what is going on.
Avid reader.... er listener.
I was already a huge fan of American Gods when the tenth anniversary edition came out. I was honestly apprehensive about buying it again. I am glad that I bought it. Giving different characters to different actors helped give a depth to the story that was amazing.
Fathers Face Remembered
First I love the novel. Yet what I need to highlight here is the quality of the production. Every element of this audiobook is amazing. The acting is good. Heck the casting is great. This to me in a perfect world would be how all audiobooks should be handled.
Shadow because he is the main guy. His voice is so well cast.
With how good the narration is here I don't think I will ever pick up the physical book ever again.
The cast made a great job in playing the characters. Shadow was a real hero. The production made you feel part of the story.
I was scare the first time Shadow saw his wife after the funeral. As I was listening to the description It gave me goose pumps.
No, I haven't
The moment that made me feel sad was when Shadow discovered what happen to the missing children.
Great book, I want to read it again.
